Well... Here's a VAGUE post... Im going to take it to my shop, to make sure... But does anyone know why, if I go over a speed bump.. I get this "thunk" or additional suspension movement.. Expecially when I go over a steep bump it feels as if the wheel "falls" back to the ground and doesn't "ride" the bump

Must be a control arm bushing, but the car drives SUPER straight. No play in the wheel whatsoever.

Just feel I'd rattle your brains for a little bit...maybe someone knows EXACTLY what I'm taking about.

Ive seen one other marauder do this.
Shocks are good, balljoints should be good. Must be control arm bushings then?

How much do they cost to replace, and if I determine that is EXACTLY the problem. Can I perform this task on my own?

Well... Here's a VAGUE post... Then here's a vague answer... ;)
Must be a control arm bushing, but the car drives SUPER straight. No play in the wheel whatsoever. If you mean the steering wheel, Phoebe was the same way and just recently failed state inspection for a loose ball joint on the driver's side. With over 160,xxx I'm not shocked... :)

yes, the car drives very smooth...... eh.... it honestly could be anything

But, i figure id entertain us here... start a big discussion on what we all think it is

isnt that why we are all here? all our opinions! lol!!!!

im gonna jack the wheel up and do some wiggling when im off work today.

Ball joints, tie rods, end links for the sway bar, I had a Vic that had wore out the bushing on the rack and pinion, take your pick, all those could cause a "thunk".

The issue has been verified!!! Lower Control Arm Bushings...

So, because i LOVE my marauder... Changing the whole assembly.... and Upper control arms with bushings and balljoints already installed..... and new Shocks..

gonna ride like its brand new!

Mine has a similar kind of unsmooth thunk from the driverside. Feels like a shock isn't working correctly or something. And it only has 37,000 miles garage kept.

I also have an annoying squeak that comes in and out at parking lot speeds if I go over any bumps. To a certain degree, I'm not shocked because it is just a Ford. But damn....my F150 didn't make noises like this until closer to 100K.

Car still rides straight and smooth otherwise.
