Okay, I might be crazy but maybe not...

As long as I've owned it, I've noticed the Marauder makes a slight whistling noise between 70-74mph. Can't hear it unless the windows are down and I'm in the lane closest to the center wall, or sometimes near another car.

Anyway, my '04 Grand Marquis never made this noise...until I put on my extra set of MM wheels. Now it does the same exact thing. Again, only between (approximately) 70 and 74mph.

Anyone else have this going on with their car? WTF?

(I just solve the problem by going +75mph)

Try swapping the tires from the MM and the GM...

...but if both sets of wheels and tires are doing it, what would swapping them out accomplish?

Just put hub caps over rims and all will be good, just kidding but i never noticed the sound your talking about maybe its the tires them selfs making the noise ? The 2 sets that you tried were they the same brand tires ?

I have Goodyears on the MGM, and Coopers on the front and Continentals on the rear of the Marauder. So in a nutshell, no, they are not specific to the tire.
