Thanks, Gary...
And for those here who may wonder or worry, Gary's 35% tint is just perfect for the MM! I know he sweated over the details, and for good reason too.
If any of you readers here reside in Illinois, it is important for you to know that ILCS has no tint standard, no "meters" producing a "fair and impartial" evaluation. The decision of what is an "obstructed view," is the business of the cop who's peeking through your window. If he/she (in his/her mind) has to peek too hard...You get a yellow coupon you will redeem on a very expensive date. By then, you will have to prove that you have already removed the alledged illegal tint. But wait, it gets better.
If you are ticketed inside the City of Chicago, your MM will have to be un-impounded, and that no way to treat a Lady, eh?
Because our MMs came with NO tint whatsoever, any technically "in the know" cop can detect your tint. However, a 35% application over ourc naked windows, shouldn't be alarming to the cop at your window. I expect that all of us who own, and really drive our MMs, will be saying "hello, officer" a lot more than we used too, but for other reasons, so, why add tint to their case?
As a cop peeking through Gary's windows, I would say that his 35% tint is reasonable, and should not alarm any Illinois L.E.O., unless your attiude makes that alarm a necessary element of their probable cause.
Drive as you wish, drive the ***** as she needs to be driven, but be nice when it's politically appropriate. It's in your best interests.
Just my "IMHO" donchano.
