View Full Version : Aeroforce Interceptor

Going to purchase an Aeroforce Interceptor setup...Probably looking at two.

Trilogy install

I currently have Autometer gauges in a triple console pod showing Oil PSI, Boot PSI and Volts. I'd like to stay away from Pillar gauges if possible as this car is my daily and I like to keep it as uncluttered and stealth as possible.

So, I'm thinking I'll replace the Boost and Volts with two Aerometers, showing four functions.

For the four functions, I'm sure of one:

A/F Wideband (Assume I'll need to install a bung, W/B O2)

Beyond that, I'll keep the one autometer for Oil PSI, so that leaves three functions. For a boosted car, what's the most important and what can be obtained from the OBDII connection vs having to buy yet another sensor?

I'm thinking volts would be one that would come from ODBII. What else?

And what's the defacto standard W/B for MMs? I have a FAST on my GN, but open to any manufacturers that are proven setups.

Thanks in advance for any advice....

Fuel Pressure, Coolant Temp and IAT.

Is Fuel PSI available via OBDII? And isn't coolant temp available on the stock gauge in the instrument cluster? I know not exact #, but at least a gross determination of good/bad.

Looks like after further research the LC-1 basic package ($199) fits the bill for interfacing to the aeroforce.

So, shopping cart:

Aeroforce dual gauge setup
Innovate Motorsports LC-1

EDIT: Also found this...a unit specifically for the Aero....Anyone use it? http://www.aeroforcetech.com/products_sensors.html

Going to get a steeda PCV filter while I'm at it.

Any other basic stuff I need for a Trilogy?

It will read the fuel pressure thru the OBDII along with coolant, IATs, volts, and many other readings. I have 2 aeroforce gauges working together and I watch IATs and coolant on one with the trans temp and fuel pressure on the other. But it's also watching all the other parameters in the car and if something gets out of whack the red LEDs will alert me. It's a very nice gauge. You will like this very much.

Thank's for the feedback and endorsement....Any MM sponsor members sell these are a preferred vendor? Lethal Performance appears to be one potential source but if there is a sponsored member that sells them, I'll certainly consider them...

Oh, and before I rip out the boost gauge, in that I bought the car and didn't do the Trilogy install, what kind of gauge comes with the Trilogy setup? Is it strictly driven by a vacuum line or is it electrical? If vacuum, then I suppose I'll have to get a vacuum/electrical transmitter for use for boost...Although I suppose I could keep the boost gauge and move Oil pressure to the Aero if Oil PSI is available via OBDII.

Glad to help. The Trilogy from what I understand didn't come with a boost gauge. Most members buy the Boost gauge from Autometer. I changed over to the Autometer ultra light II which is electical and doesn't use a vacuum line. It reads through the electrical but not the OBDII port. You can actually buy a module from interceptor that will make you boost read out in your aeroforce gauge. I personlly liked the seperate gauge. The autometer boost gauge that looks like the factory gauges does use a vacuum line. Below is what I had and beside to the right it is now what I have.

On the aerorforce gauges if you want more than one let them know so they can fix them to run tandom. I know that's what they had to do for me a couple of years ago.

What I have now below

Here's the link to the Ultra Lite II. Click on the nightime view at the top and you'll see why I went with it.
