All this talk about 4.10's

Here is an alternative.

BTW That's with the 1-2 line pressure at -25%! I still maintain 20 MPG down from 23.5 at 75 MPH and RPM's IIRC were just south of 2800 RPM.

Just showing you options..

I'm thinking (and judging from your signature list of mods) you can't just slap on 4.3's on a S/C marauder and expect to have any traction. It appears quite a bit of suspension mods need to come along for the ride?

If I could do it all over. I'd have gotten the 4.30's.

But oh well.

would 4.30s only be good if your supercharged?? I mean would it be smart to install the .30s on a NA marauder?

Hard to tell with a sc because already has raw power to just spin from the jump

I would think 4.30s in a N/A car would be even better than 4.10s. Any way you look at it, acceleration will be faster off the line than 4.10s, 3.73s, 3.55s... But the top end will also be lower, there is always a trade off

Normally I would agree, but with temps flirting with 80's and up is not an issue whatsoever. This is assuming you have decent tires and KNOW your car. Spring time weather? FUN :D

These would have been my very first mod eight years ago had I known!

Think there would be any issues with the 28 splines on an N/A w/4.30's?

highly doubt it the engine isnt making a huge amount of torque the 4.30 gear helps out a ton but the only way it would cause damage is repeated drag launches with sticky tires on it

No. The only worry is sustained speed in the triple digits just like 4.10's. I never see over 90 really so I am still without a better drive shaft or forced lube mod and not a drip from the tail shaft yet. Not to mention OEM with 90,000 miles.

4:10s are a mandatory mod! and as stated in another thread 3:55s were used for better gas milage!

4:10s or 4:anythings are a better choice for our heavy boats!

I don't really feel a huge difference in acceleration like I thought I would, but I can't get over how easy she gets up to sixty, or anything for that matter. I am not speaking of WOT, but just normal driving. It litterly feels 2000 pounds lighter than stock with just the slightest pinch of the pedal even in 100*+ weather with the air cranking.

It is obviously faster as it tachs up sooo much earlier, but I wouldn't say its a miracle like some of the stories I read about gears.

Still can't believe I drove this thing bone stock for four YEARS! I guess you could say I have all but molested the car at this point and have zero plans on stopping now. :D

I would rock 4.30's if my car wasn't a daily that I took across open deserts frequently.

We had 4.30's in our 01' Cobra and they were awesome. I still have the gears in the garage.

I love my 4.10, havent had a problem with triple digits, which I occasionally flirt with on long stretches.
