O. K.---all you Mercury Marauder owners in Texas---WHERE ARE YOU ???? There have been over 30 "New Members" listing for Texas in the last year--where are you ????? I was the activities guy when we first organized in 2003, 2004, 2005. We fielded up to 21 MMs at a show--had 4 picnics--sent 11 MMs to Marauderville II --attended many car shows--drag raced--road raced--closed-course raced---had numerous breakfast and Brunch meetings and enjoyed many pleasant hours together, Slowly, particiption dropped due to selling the MM, losing interest and age. I want to revitalize the NORTH TEXAS MARAUDERS !!!!! PLEASE--all you non-posting lurkers--post just once with your likes and dislikes an d we'll take it from there. In order to plan events, you must know the participant's desires--can't plan anything if you can't have any idea of who will be there. LET'S GET THE TEXAS MARAUDERS IN HIGH GEAR AGAIN !!!! :help: Maury

Just checked with the event planner--I think we should go on July 20th---more time for everyone to see the post. I haven't been able to download the flyer to the mm.net--will keep trying.
Be there by 6 PM.
Register for car show
Parade lap around TMS -- quite an experience if you haven't done it
Awards about 7:30 PM
There is time to get registered and participate in drag racing also
1/8th mile track (I know Marauders are slow in the 1/8th , but it is fun)
Fees:
$20 for car show
$20 for drag racing
More detailed info to follow if enough interest is shown--8 to 10 commitments
WE can be processed as a group and park and parade together.
IT'S UP TO YOU--POST YOUR INTEREST Maury :burnout::D

Sounds fun Maury, but I won't be able to make any events this weekend. They have these events every Friday during the summer, so should be able to make another date.

Hey Maury, I met you back in 2004/5. It was at a show in Grapevine. Sat next to you (and others) at lunch. Had a great time and some great laughs. Back then, I had recently relocated here with my brand new Marauder from Baltimore. And shortly after that one-&-only Marauder my job amp'd-up. And I put the Marauder into storage. I've still got it, but the job still has me running a lot, but not so much during the summer. I've been using it as much as I can. I still enjoy it. I'm hoping to make a meet soon; just can't predict when. Anyway, I saw you post, and felt compelled to reply. Stay safe. -Matt.

Maury and Gang
Was laid off in 2008, daughter born in 2008, then we purchased a MATCO Tools franchise in 2009. Since then life has been quite busy, no signs of slowing down or getting some free time.
I remember meeting at John Eagle and other events, what a great time. If some free time does appear and a NTMM event is scheduled, will definitely make it happen

I miss those days but I'm too far away now. I'll be back to see the g-kids, maybe next year.
Just took the MM (38K) to the mountains last week. I feel sorry for those who don't get to drive their MMs in the mountains. It is built for the mountains. Planning to take it to Oregon this fall. It is my retirement present to myself.
Cheers,
Rod

Great to hear from you. Glad you are making the most of your retirement freedom---Ginny and I waited too long to do our "bucket list" and now it's not practical to accomplish. We are enjoying the new freedom of our smaller home and fewer duties, but the travel days are over for both of us. I really have no regrets, though, we had some great years during our early retirement years. We've been retired for 26 years. I sure miss the old gang--great folks. I just can't get enough interest out of enough newbees to get anything big going:help:. I still enjoy driving the Marauder and get to stretch it's legs often--still have the feel and touch for an exciting ride . Enjoy the Marauder and come visit soon, Maury:beer:

Hi Maury,
I am out here in Tyler and am a memeber of MM.net but like others family and business keep me pretty occupied. I am am planning on attending the Goodguys Sunday get together at TMS October 7th. Hopefully we could get a group of Marauders out there.

On Sunday only. They call it Super Sunday Get-Together. They allow late models. On Friday and Saturday I park outside. It is something new they have added to get more participation.
