Yesterday BradleyG's daughter (twin #2) was returning home from work, as she was turning left in front of oncomming traffic (2 lane HWY), the motor quit.
I have had a noise coming from the timing coverfor a while.
I think it was a tensioner noise and maybe the chain finally broke, the oil don't look good either I changed it a few weeks ago and its full of what appears to be graphite like, Black & metally looking

That's a shame you knew what it was too. Takes a couple of hours to remove front cover and install new tensioners, then put it back together.
About $150 total in parts. I even did a write up on how to do this on CVN.
