I took my car into a friend at a Ford dealer to have the A/C checked out before a road trip through a stupid hot area. He just did a quick vacuum/recharge with their nifty machine. While talking with him in the shop 6 different tech's came over to check out the car and asked if it was stock and BS about it. I think its pretty cool considering one of them was working on a GT500 and ventured over to BS about the car with me. Its cool all the attention that car gets. Two of them were under the impression they were all black because that is all they've ever seen.
I noticed my stupid F'n pinion seal was leaking again yesterday. So while we were there with a lift we swapped that out in about 20 minutes with a Ford one. I had used an autozone one. So lesson learned with that. The A/C did need some love it turns out, I was .76kg capacity. It was recharged at factory 1.08kg.
A/C is cold and stupid seal fixed.
And....again, I love this car...

I get the most attention from the sales guys at the Ford dealer here when I'm there for parts or whatever. They love it!

Last summer, while at a coffe shop; two guys were yapping about their cars.
One was a beater, while the other was (as I overheard), a 2011 Charger R/T. It was very new to him.
I then overheard "Charger guy" say to the other: "Man, that's a Marauder. I'd get rid of this in a second, to have one of those!"
It's a nice feeling, this attention!

i went to the Sprint store today to get a new phone and the first thing the guy says when i walk in, "I love Marauder's, I've always wanted one." We talked about it for a few min.

Perhaps it is the custom decals I had made for him, perhaps it is the emblem delete grille, the Cougar XR-7 'G' hood scoop, or just the general appearance of my '04 DTR(23,000 miles) MM...but whenever I am out and about in that rascal, people stop to look at it and they always want to discuss it...many asking what the devil it is.
Sorta makes us all rather proud of our rides when that happens doesn't it?

So yesterday I'm coming out of the Hyvee, and way out there in the parking lot by my lonesome Marauder appears to be a late model Mustang convertible parked behind it. As I'm getting closer, I see two girls get out and start looking at the MM.
I'm walking up behind them and hear one of them say, I can't believe it, this is it. I say Hi, they turn around, they appear to be 16 or 17, she says, I had to show this to my friend, It's just like Grandpa's. I stand there and listen to her go on about all the times she spent as a young girl helping Grandpa work on his car, handing him tools, washing the car, and taking her for rides.
I said I'd like to meet your Grandpa and started to give her a card, and she says, Grandpa died three years ago, and Grandma was scared to drive it, so she sold it.
I start thinking to myself, wait a minute, I bought this car two and a half years ago. I said, well I bought this about three years ago. She asks if she can look at the back seat. I open the door and she points to a very small tear in the back seat where the back and bottom seat meet, that I never even noticed before.., she gets excited and says, This is it, this is it. I just smiled. I would have liked to talk a little more, but with the temperature at 101, we parted ways.
So as I drove away in Grandpa's car, I think to myself...Sweet, I now know some more history of my car..:)

Very cool story.
(When she went to check the back seat; I thought she was going to know it was "the" car, by pointing out one of her teenage / drunkin' / Monica Lewinski moments. Eeeeewwwww!)
Every time I take mine out it like I'm seeing it for the first time!
I can't get enough of this car!

Those moments happen all the time to you and me;, that is with out a doubt the best Marauder story that I have ever, ever heard or ever will hear. Thanks for sharing it.

My Marauder gets way more compliments when I have it out than my 2010 Dodge Challenger R/T does.

Parked my Red in front of my Bakery today with the motor running for one hour. No one stole it. Is there something wrong with that?

At least, a minimum of once a week, someone somwhere where I pull up says something great about my MM, and others just don't know, they don't.

I get stopped by others at gas stations all the time to ask me questions about the car. I'll often see people turn and look at it to as I'm driving by.

I had two people asking about buying it at the cruise-in I went to a few weekends ago. I plan on selling it soon.. sounds like it will be easy and I may not even have to detail with Craigslist people!

When I take my Silver Birch '04 in for an oil change at my Ford Dealer, the mechanics fight over working on the car. They rarely see a Marauder in the shop or on the road. The service manager has had to set up a lottery for some of the cars from my car club. They do a rotation of service personel. However, the service manager always gets to "road test" the cars after the work is done.
I didn't know that an oil change needed a road test!
