So I just took the 04 in for the very first oil change. They tried to rotate the tires, but they admitted their mistake and gave me the oil change for free.
Anyway on to my question. I am getting an allignment done this week (after a whopping 5k miles it is pulling to the right) at the same dealer. I asked if they had the adaptor for the Marauder and they claimed the alignment machine they have goes around the tire and needs no adaptor for the wheels. Should I believe them? Does such a beast exist? Will it really not scratch the wheel?
Thanks in advance!

Purdue,
Have them mount Grand Marquis wheels on your MM if necessary. Many members have already been there/done that! Good Luck-----

I believe there is a adapter that basically straps the equipment to the tire and doesn't touch the wheel. The alignment machine should remove any inconsistency from just strapping it on (at least if it is a Hunter machine). Insert inappropriate joke here. So, I don't think its BS. Find out when was the last time they had their alignment machine calibrated. If it was longer than 6 months ago, find somewhere else. These machines need constant maintainance.
Make sure you are with the car when they put the adapters on the wheels.
To hell with 'no one past this point due to insurance blah blah blah'
Stand next to the guy, period.

Yes they can depending on their equiptment. our dealership uses all john beam alignment machines. They can hook on the outer lip of the rim and they wont scratch the wheels. Weve done many marauders and have not had any problems. no adapter nessesary. but again thats with our machines, dont go where they have old equiptment, its not designed for for wheels without outer beads.
p.s. Shankin who is also new to this site is our hi performance specialist so feel free to get his input on any steering and suspension problems.
