I replaced the o-rings in my EATSU today.
When I disconnected it there is a cluster of 5 or 6 vacuum lines held in place by a plastic connector. Do all the holes have lines to them?
My top hole does not have a line connected to it.

Further, when I re-installed it, my blend door which was stuck ( in the air conditioning position) is clicking again. It will now shift from cold air to hot air out the vents. Do those vacuum lines change the blend door settings also?

No. The blend door actuator is the only one that is electrically controlled.

Does any one know if there is an empty hole to the back of your EATS?
Or is their a line going to each.

Empty hole, there is one......

There are 5 vacuum lines. One supply and one to each of the 4 vacuum motors.

Thank you.

I put my un-repaired EATSU back in.
I ordered the red silicon o-rings for it.
The blend door is still clicking.
I hope it stops in the air-conditioning mode and not the heater mode.
Can't afford the $900 repair.
My daughter's 1999 Sable also has a broken blend door.

Out of curiosity, who charges $900.00 for the repair and what is included in that price quote?

Thanks inadvicee for your response BLACKMARAUDER04!

I would venture to guess it like this:

NEW EATC - $700.00

Diagnostics, removal and replacement of the EATC - $200.00

All that for a new part that will go bad again.

If you take yours out and ship it to me, I charge $25.00 for the repair.

List price for a new EATC is ~$500.00 from what I've found fastblackmerc, who charges $700.00?

In addition, if someone wanted to do the swap themselves, isn't there a write-up on these boards that would save 'em the cost of removal and replacemnt... in fact I thought I read a write-up by you if I'm not mistaken, but I can't find the thread at the moment! :o
