I was putting my cowl back together after having swapped out my engine and I went to test the wipers to make sure they were working. They went all the way up and then stopped. I couldn’t get them to move back down again. I took the arms off and tried again. Nothing moved. I did notice that as soon as I turn the wipers on the lights turned on. From what I have read when I used the search function the lights are supposed to come on when the wipers are turned on, but after 15-20 seconds, not right away.
It did this even after I unplugged the connector for the wipers.
I read about the Wacky Wipers issue and what I found was more of the wipers not turning off, or them coming on for no reason. I didn’t really find anyone having a situation where the arms stopped entirely.
The car has been sitting inside for the last 5 months, so I know the WW motor is bone dry if that matters.
Is this a LCM, Multifunction Switch, or the Wiper motor and control module issue? Unfortunately I can’t afford to take it to a shop or to throw parts at it, otherwise I would repace the wiper motor and control module.
Any suggestions would be highly welcome.
