My friends MM was recently taken out of storage it has very few miles on it but when he took it out it didn't want to start. He changed the plugs and he thought that was it but no it came back I went over there on Sunday with my MM and pulled the plugs. some looked like they weren't firing so I changed 2 COP's and changed the fuel filter also ran a can of injector cleaner directly into the fuel rail (I have a ford kit) and it seem to run great. This morning he got in it to go to work and the same thing happened, it didn't want to start and once it did it ran rough until it warmed up then it ran great again. It did it again on his way home. Any sugestions???

If it was in storage, how old is the gas? May need to run the heck out of it to get tank down below half & fill with fresh to get it running normal again. Good luck!

We did that. I know how the f...ing gas gumms things up. put in some methalhydrate and before he put it away he used staybill as well

That's why I asked how long it sat. Even with Stabyl, gas can get stale if car sits over a year. Stale is different than gummed up. Reflects ignitability. When stale will usually start ok when engine warm but getting to fire when cold can be a pita.
Your description of what is happening is classic for stale gas. My SS has only 8k on it so been there with the issue.
Good luck.

Check the engine harness going past the wiped motor.... They chafe there and sometimes cause the injectors to stay on and flood the motor

When I had no start issues, it was the fuel pump. No pressure. Ran crappy at first just like his. Push the nipple on the fuel rail and see if fuel squirts out.

When I performed the injector cleaning I purged the fuel rail through the shrader valve and there was plenty of preasure. When I pulled the plugs they were wet so I thought it was the COP's but after changing them it ran fine till the next morning when he tried starting it and it wouldn't

Thanks for all the input. He's going to take it for a good run to his cottage and get rid of all the gas in his tank, told him to put some methahydrate in before he leaves and to check the loom across the wipper motor and check the connection to the IAC. If there's anything I missed please advise. Thanks again to everyone who replied!!

Well, we tried all the above and then some. Still doesn't want to start when cold and now has developed a bad idle? the oly thing I'm thinking of is changing the IAC? I had cleaned it and it ran well for a while then back to the same thing but we also did other things at the same time. What do you guys think?
