Took out XM Radio, now no factory head unit

Hello all, previous owner had XM radio installed, had an Alpine CD changer style remote that came out of the dash to control it. It looked ugly, so I removed it along with the XM Antenna, also had three wires spliced into the factory radio harness that I removed. Well, that was a mistake, now the Factory radio/head unit will not work. The only function it will perform is shoot the a CD out and accept a CD, but wont play it, nor will anything on the radio function. I know the description is vague, and it could be a million things wrong, but has anyone experienced anything like this removing an XM radio? All harnesses are plugged in the radio, but what do I know, should have left it alone...
