its got 2 wires:

one BLACK wire with white stripe going thru it and
one RED wire with a light/lime green stripe going thru it

the actual connector had 2 prongs in it

For lack of a better word, its designed to suppress noise interference from your coils through your radio. It should be held to the cam cover by a single bolt. You should have one on the drivers side as well.

The FSM says that plug is for Ignition Transformer Capacitor 1. It's not clear from the diagram whether anything is supposed to be plugged into it. There should be an identical connector on the other side of the motor...see where that one goes.

Correct. The connector goes to the noise suppressor for the ignition system. There is only one and its on the passenger side.

Take a trip to your local Ford parts counter. The guys there can help you figure out what it's supposed to connect to, and what parts might be missing and how much it'll cost. You can ask them for some printouts, and leave without spending any money.
Go when they're not very busy, and don't forget to ask nicely.

1. When a spark-ignited engine runs, the high voltage spikes that occur can cause radio interference. You can actually hear the interference through the AM/FM radio in your car when you turn it on and tune it to any channel.

2. To combat this problem, a device called a noise suppressor is installed near the source of the noise - in this case, it's on your engine.

3. What that means to you, marauder410: if you do not hear any noise (which sounds like a buzzing that changes pitch with engine rpm) coming from your radio, you do not have a radio interference problem, which means you do not have to install the noise suppressor, which means the connector you're asking about can remain unconnected. Just tuck it out of sight if you want.
But, if you do hear a buzzing coming from your radio, and that buzzing noise gets higher in pitch when you rev up the engine, then you do have a noise problem. In that case, you should replace the missing noise suppressor. This is not a part that normally wears out nor needs regular replacing, so you will not find it at your local autozone or walmart automotive section. You will have to go to a Ford/Lincoln dealership, go to their parts counter, and buy it there. Or, you could ignore the noise coming through the radio, in which case all you need to do is tuck that connector out of sight.

I hope this helps clear things up for you.

thanks spartaperformance yea was looking at car today and seen the one on my driver side, it is just the little black box peice the "SUPRESSOR" peice im missing.my driver side its just hooks up into the supressor and bolted on to the back olt closest to firewall cylinder cover.

im wondering how much one of those supressors would cost me.not to worryed about it because installing this is not gonna give me no benifits
