Our alternators are now discontinued from Ford and Motorcraft. Whatever stock is out in the dealerships is all that is left. Minus one...the one I installed that is worse than the one on my MM.
Looks like I'll be calling Dennis to see if his 200 amper is still available.

What is new, they don't even make our front coil springs any more

You can get 200 amp alts from:
http://www.dbelectrical.com/ (http://www.dbelectrical.com/)
That's where I picked up mine for the Marauder.

Why not have a local re-builder just rebuild it? That way you keep the correct alternator with your car...

PA Performance stopped making them for the Marauder as well. Mark (FastMerc) and myself were the very last ones to get chrome Marauder specific alternators.

I'm going with Dennis Reinhart's 200 amp kit.
I pulled the back cover off and one of the brushes is digging a hole to China on the one commutator.
The cooling fan crapped out 2 weeks ago. I'm getting close to 70K and the gremlins are stopping by.
Other than these two items she's been a good girl all these years.

I do not believe this to be true. The Motocraft alternators ask for a core back to rebuild.
Working for a Ford Parts dept, I can look into this.
I know this: 2 Brand new MM alternators exist at 1 dealer for $216.67 list.

I could believe it. I went looking for a new alternator at the dealerships because I'm doing the Trilogy install right now, and I have the misfortune of having an early alternator with the funky pulley on it. No one can remove it. So I thought a new alternator might be the best compromize between driving my car and letting it sit dead for another 3 weeks.
My SVT dealer found ONE compatible part in the warehouse Wednesday. By Thursday it was gone, and there was no ETA fro more.
I went to Summit and had to get a fancy chrome one (or wait 3 weeks for a polished or black). Not a cheap hit to get it here by Friday. :( I'm supposed to be doing some lapping at the Edmonton Indy track on the weekend.

I gave Motorcraft two tries to get it right and was pretty disappointed. I was thinking of replacing the MM with a Raptor but seeing how Ford takes care of its limited edition vehicles I think I'll pass.

The Motorcraft alternators suck anyway.

there is a tool to take the clutch pulley off, if thats your problem.
Mine came off fine with it

That is my problem. But my other problem is that not one SVT dealer in the Edmonton area knows of, or has one of those tools.
So I ordered a new, chrome 200amp one from Summit. That was all I could order, as any in black or polished or 135 amp only ship from warehouses that don't ship to my part of the continent, so I was looking at 2 weeks before they even shipped.
F- it, I say. ;) One day, i will have all the parts I need.

That's what I did! Even had some "BLING" put on it!

Exactly, we take those clutched pulleys off and put them back on all of the time...

I had my alternator replaced under warranty two weeks after I bought the car in 2005. 140k + miles later and it still turns out plenty of juice.

This is the problem with these cars. Too many MM specific parts that are no longer available on a car that is not even officially 10 years old... :(
