This is one of the wires running to the coil plugs its an inch from where the wires come out of the harness. i saw it today while putting my motor back together. first i thought it was from it rubbing something but under a magnifying glass it appears to have burned through the insulation it looks brown and bubbled and the adjacent wire looks like it took some of the heat as its browned slightly also. i took the tape back to get it exposed better and i was just going to tape the single wire then tape the bundle back up before i noticed it looked burned.
Any ideas on why this could be?

Thanks
Tim

I was making a jovial reference to a very recent thread about wires that got locked because it became a pissing contest...guessing you haven't seen it...

No problem...I just found it funny & ironic that you started this thread shortly after the other one got locked up...

Who knows what caused your wires to do that...electricity is fickle! Just the other day, the light bulb in my desk lamp had a 5-minute 'flicker-fest'...I was too scared to get near it to turn it off (I've been zapped before, so don't want to go that route ever again); eventually it quit and hasn't done it since...

ya I ended up just tapping it and securing the harness better after looking harder at it I think it was heat from the motor not an electrical heat cause only that 3/16 was burned on one half if it was the wire heating up the whole wire probably would have shown signs.

I'm no electrical expert, but yeah, looking at your pic it looks like the wire was heated from the outside and not from inside...and over a long period of time, too.
