Hey guys, I've got Trilogy kit #95 on my 2004 Marauder... but I also have a stereo system with subwoofer installed. I've now destroyed my third stock alternator due to the heavy load from the stereo system. (They last about 2 to 2.5 years, then die.)

I've spoken with my shop, and they tried to fit a high amp alternator from the police package, but it is a little bit bigger in size, and with the tight area and reverse mount of the Trilogy kit, it hit the engine fan.

Are there any options for a high-amperage alternator that will fit with the Trilogy kit? I hate installing stock alternator #4 knowing it will only die sometime in late 2014/early 2015!

(And yes... I know I can just turn the bass down!) ;)

Are you sure these are the same size as stock? I know there are lots of direct bolt-on alternators for stock Marauders, but if the size is even bigger by a tiny bit, it won't fit with the Trilogy kit.

Maybe get a second battery and put it in the trunk next/close to your sub amp like this:

http://www.kinetikpower.com/2009/default.asp

And replace your stock battery with an optima yellow or red top.

Gee......how much power/watts you running to the subs???? Running the sub amp(s) @ 4 ohm....2 ohm...1 ohm????

Also, try doing the big three (3) upgrade.

Even more then continually replacing the Alternator is the voltage drop & possible other things that could happen considering you are boosted.

DB Electrical, I have used them in the past with good results, and..... I have killed 2 alternators already, but I think the 6500 rpm shifts have something to do with it.:D :burnout:

RPMs will kill an alternator? Why? What is a safe shift point?

I have had the PowerBastard's 220 amp alt pc'd black for over two years now. Worky A-ok to 7k rpms! :coolman: I know you mentioned Trilogy, but, this is a direct fit replacement of the exact same size as stock and it comes with the correct non-clutch pulley on it.

Im currently running a db electrical alternator and it works great...Since I have the 4lb lower sometimes when im runnig my AC sitting still the voltage light will kick on soon as I hit the accelerator its all fine..The db electrical alternator keeps everything charged up nice with my optima red top being trunk mounted.
