Apologies if this has been answered already, but...
I'm looking at, at the very least, F'd up valve seats on my Marauder. Possibly a washed out piston ring. Haven't torn it apart yet to know what's going on. I'm not sure if I wanna just have the seats re-set or go ahead and buy new heads. Is there some sort of cheat sheet that'll tell me which DOHC head castings I could easily use on my car? I mean I'm guessing heads from a '93 Mark aren't going to work, but what about from a Mach or Aviator?
On the same token, I've been eyeing maybe doing just a full engine swap with one of the take-out engines on eBay. Plenty of Mach 1 and Aviator engines. Will these work if I use my computer and harness, etc...?

Heads off the Mach 1 or Aviator should work. IIRC, '93 Marks had a different port design, but physically should bolt on.

That's kinda what I was thinking - I want more than "will bolt on" - I want "will bolt on and actually work." :D

Get an Aluminator crate engine drop in. $6500 (bolt in and will actually work) You can get 1 year same as cash, just pay it off before 1 year. Sparta (MM Vendor) has a good price on these. Bonus: you get the nice blue cam covers..
Brand new heads and engine. 0 miles. Sell the old engine for some money back perhaps or give it to zach or whoever helps you install the Aluminator.

"B heads" ports are different from our "C heads".

Yup, tumble porting, IIRC....

I bought a set of 04 Cobra/Mach 1 heads, exactly the same as ours on the MM.

As long as it's the 10.1 NA crate motor you should not need a tune.

Good to know.
Wonder if I could still run my Zack tune on that?

03/04 Mach 1, 03/04 Cobra (would just need to swap your cams in), 03/04 Aviator and of course 03/04 Marauder. 04 year is preferable because of the possibility of picking up heads that have 9 threads in the spark plug holes vs. the 3 thread ones.

Forgot about the spark plug thread count, I need to pull the plugs out of the heads I bought and see what they are.

Yep. it would work fine. The engine would be exactly the same just forged. You would need a 8 bolt flywheel and the front cover from your mm engine, and that's it. Then you could spray it later on or boost.

Do new aluminators come with 9?

Yes they do! It's going to be pretty hard to get Aluminators soon since they aren't made any more.

10-4, thanks.
This may be the route I go. I was thinking about a Coyote swap but I like the plug-n-play idea of the Aluminator. So it's either get the heads fixed, rebuild, or Aluminator.
