Greetings everyone...
Its time for me to clean MAF in my 2003. I have around 97,500 miles on it, and I have never cleaned it before. It cant be that difficult, but just want to make sure that I do it correctly. Also looking to her any suggestions and proper way to clean the intake as well.
Thanks!!

I use some stuff that was made for cleaning the MAF, It's called Sensor Kleen, made by CRC. You need something that dries fast and won't leave a residue. You could use the same stuff for the intake but there is specific stuff for that to. For the intake, take the intake plenum off and with the car off spray your cleaner in and around the butterfly then take a rag and clean out as much carbon as you can then open the butterfly and do the same... Done. When I do mine I always take the IAC off and clean it and the ports up.. Easy Plessey lemon squeezey...

Save yourself a dollar and get CRC QD Electronic Cleaner. The QD stands for Quick Dry. Chemically it's the same thing as the MAF cleaner.

...and be careful not to touch the actual MAF sensor wire itself with any implements...it's quite fragile. Just the spray should do it.

Flame suit on but I have cleaned mine almost twice a year since new and countless other MAF's with just carb cleaner and never had I'll effects.
Now bring on the naysayers LOL

Ya I was wondering about using carb or brake cleaner? Will there be any film left behind with either of these?

Most likely there will be... that is why you use the proper cleaner.

With so many products out there; don't substitute something, and risk paying for it later.
