Well, isn't this ironic- in tonight's mail I get BOTH the new car buyer's survey from LM and the card to fill out for the "Jacket" I've raised so much he_ _ about---seems kinda funny to me...after having to rasie such a stink for it--so --was wondering folks---how did you handle your survey---were you kind and "perfect" for your salesperson or did you lean the other way--but before you answer--let me say the dealer said at the close of the paper work that " on that survey--be one way or the other--cause the middle answers just get thrown out and and your saleperson gets charged with your survey results"---now com-on folks--isn't this a bit to much..so what did they throw at you and what was your reply----am not sure how I'll respond as yet......

They want to know how your deal went, honestly.

Actuall, it was spread over a three month period with a final "let the wife drive it day" that did it? And she hasn't driven it since! She had it up to 80MPH and the sales guy holding on in the back--oh well- guess I'll be just as honest as can be and send it back--anyone else have comments ----cause was wondering if it really had to be all "excellent" vs other choices ..wouldn't want the sales guy to get a bad rap....

Hmm... My dealer didn't pursuaded me any, but he did say he'd throw in a free key and fob if I brought it in to him and let him send it off. I marked everything good, cause my guy was awesome compared to the first dealer I went to. Only thing I gave a slight decrease to was the quality of the car upon delivery. I miss my car! I WANT MY BABY BACK! :(

Anyone read the card that came with the jacket? The pre-printed address was Mercury Marauder Promo something. First question on the back? Type of vehicle.
LMAO!

I believe the salesperson only gets dinged on things that reflect on him or what's in his control... My dealership sales manager sends out a letter that if you cannot mark it "perfect" to please call him before sending it.. Those scores do reflect on their "Blue Oval Certified" standing or what ever Mercury calls it....
BTW The survey is a good place to mention things like "fake" oil pressure guages and gearing....

I got my survey and jacket card yesterday, too. Exactly one month from the date of purchase.
After we closed the deal, the salesman was practically begging me to give him all excellent marks. It seems that not only are dealerships certified, but salesmen can be too. This guys was something called "Master Certified Salesman" or similar. I saw him a couple of weeks ago and he mentioned the survey again.
I haven't even looked at it. If it's broken out by category I'll give the salesman high marks. The dealership: not so high.
I bought my wife a Kia van in October. As we left, the sales manager told me that their survey was over the phone and the first question was "all him" - pointing at the salesman. He said if I had a problem with the dealer - that was fine - but he asked me to be nice to the salesman if I could. I was.
I have a feeling Ford is similar: sales questions relate to the salesman, service questions to the service manager, etc. But I'm sure the overall is tied into that Blue Oval certification stuff.
My gut says to send it in honest or don't bother to send it in.
