yess sirr just like the title say i asked you guys a month or two ago and was said that NOO juts changing the fluid is not going to make both wheels spins..

soo i said well it needs it anyways so i jacked up put on all 4 jack stands and took the gear cover off and the cover was a aftermarket ford racing performance cover and was like that when purchased the car...so

i drained the fluid with the drain plug the cover had on it while i was loosing the bolts and took it off cleaned it all up checked the teeth on the gear/pinion and everything all looked brand new spun the wheel a little bit and check it all out and all looked perfect

i noticed it was a stock inside 355 on ring and 355 on pinion so all stock but all looked perfect and was all tight when was spinning wheels forward and back nothing loose

so after cleaned it all up REALL good simple green on the cover and cleaned the edges with a razor blade to get all the off rubber gasket off and put it all back to gether with the RTV REd stuff and let sit for hour to make sure gasket got hard and sealed it..

so after hour i filled it back with the royal purple with the friction modifier included and took the whole 3 quarts and pluged here back up and let sit for bout half hour...

started it up and let idles for bout 15 min juts to get it all flowing again and drove around for bout 15 more mins to make sure eveything was all ok

then i broke it loose and both wheels spun i was amazed and soo happy when i did the burnout, i didnt think that only a fluid change with some good fluid and cleaned it all up REAL good would fix it and save me alot of money :D:D:D

i did a crazy burnout i was soo happy for the first time ever since had the car for 2 years both tires were spinning im a happy camper now

so yes sometimes if you have the one wheel peel,, first try to do a gear fluid change and put some ROYAL PURPLE 75w-140 in and see if that will fix it first

thats why thats ALLLL i use is royal purple fluids oil/steering/TRANS/GEAR because its awesome stuff

also this was the first time trying to change gear fluid and was super easy and took me about 3 hours from start to finish and that was me just taking my time.

but was a VERY messy job and that gear oil if it has alot of miles on it, it is some nasty stinky stuff there

What's the recommended mileage to change the rear differential fluid out of curiosity?

That's a good question...maybe depends on how 'hard' the car is driven? I had my rear diff rebuilt back in May when I had 410 gear installed. I'm guessing the previous owner didn't have a heavy right foot and I don't go WOT but maybe once/wk (probably less before the gear install). My car had around 91K on it when the gear/new clutch pack install was done. The mechanic looked at the clutch pack he took out and said the clutch plates were just starting to show signs of wear. He also told me to bring it back in after a year to drain/refill gear oil to get rid of any metal shavings from the new gear set.

So, I'll take a guess and say if you drive 'conservatively', once every 100K? If you have a heavy right foot, maybe once every 60-75K?

An oil analysis will give you a good idea of when to change.

If you have TOO MUCH friction modifier in the gear oil, that will happen. Friction modifier is added to allow the clutches to have some allowable slippage. If you didn't have any in, you would have fun going around corners.

Wow Lucky for you! Mine started a one wheel peel one day and by that night my whole rear end was gone.

I changed mine around 10,000 miles to switch to full synthetic fluid .

didnt they come with full synthetic from the factory? thats what the dealer told me it took last time i changed mine. and the friction mod, fluid.

didnt they come with full synthetic from the factory? thats what the dealer told me it took last time i changed mine.Unfortunately, most dealers have no clue when it comes to fluids. The MM rear axle was filled with 80W-90 conventional at the factory. Ford did later recommend 75w-140 synthetic be used with their axle TSB kits.

CVPIs and trucks were filled with synthetic at the factory.

I personally don't get the opportunity to go WOT too much living here in NYC so I suppose I'll have the dealer take a look to be sure everything is copacetic when I take her in for her 50K service. Thanks for your advice IwantmyMMnow!

The Westside highway at 2am is like a drag strip. I see lamborghinis and everything flying by. One night I saw a Nissan Titan and a c5 vette go for it and the Titan was winning.
