MVX will be a time to reflect on the past. Many people have contributed to the lore of the car. Post up your thoughts and events of the past. Example can be on mods, racing and mods. Who started them. Look at what Jerry Barnes did for the car with the Trilogy Supercharger. Who was the first to get into the 13's. What about the Martyo and Jerry bets on who had the fastest car? Plenty of great talk abut the past!

MVX will be a party but remember that the people from the past and the present are the ones who made all this possible. If you come to this event you will make friends for life. I have stayed with Marauder owners and have made it to the events and have been taken in as family by people I have never meet. You need to come to find out what really goes on! The cars are great but its the people who have made this all happen. What are your thoughts and memories?:)

Oh man, Pops, where do I start?

Getting my DTR, going through the trauma of getting it totalled, but then experiencing the joy of finding a DBP to replace it; modding the car, including the SC install two years ago.

Then there are people I've met over the years: you, Hack, Doomie, Zack, all the Blues Brothers, the Carolina and Southern Marauder guys, Mary, Bob, Dan, Mike, BDJ, so, so, SO many more good friends that I've made through the common bond of this car.

The Maraudervilles I've attended (4-9), including co-chairing and hosting MV8.

Louisville meets, SSHS weekends, the BOC and other car shows, cruise-ins...

All because of a car.

Can't wait to get up to South Haven and add another bunch of memories this year.

What are your thoughts and memories?:)

There's some MM history here with local, regional and national events over the past 10 years. Local on the 1st page. Regional and National start at Post #32. >>>>>> http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=53146

I'll post up some specific "memories" when I have a chance to collect my thoughts.

I am still amazed at how many friends I have made all because of this car. Truely amazing. If my 2005 GTO was not a POS. I would not have bought my 2004 DTR.

Thank you POS GTO for making me finally buy a Marauder:burnout:

Mine too. But I thought that was at MV7.... where me, you and Connie would meet for coffee in the lobby while Mr. Man and Fordfrk got their beauty rest. ;) I was meeting JoAnne in the parking lot during MV8 at that time. :o

MV8 had a slightly different set-up for coffee and I ended up paying for it a couple times.

Here's the specifics from the past Memories recaps ....

MARAUDERVILLE VII (MV7)

Thursday, 1 October 2009

• Up early and in the lobby at 6:10 AM. No one in sight. Some folks start drifting in around 7:00 AM
• Breakfast and coffee in the hotel lounge with 03MMmonroe and his dad. Ms. Denmark and Mrs. Fordfrk drop in for coffee. Seems Mr. Man is enjoying his beauty sleep and Fordfrk is laying in bed playing with the TV remote.

Friday, 2 October 2009

• Up at 6:05 AM. Not a creature stirring in the lobby. I think LCR games ran until 2:00 AM last night. There will be some dragging MMers today. Still raining. Should clear up by 8:00 AM.
• Breakfast in the hotel lounge with 03MMmonroe, Mrs. Fordfrk and Ms. Denmark again. Where is everyone? Wake up sleepyheads.

Saturday, 3 October 2009

• Up at 5:47 AM. It’s Indy Day.
• Run into 03MMmonroe in the back lot. He is up very early to make the run to Muncie Dragway with Rex/SC Cheesehead to get his car still sitting at the track.
• Breakfast, Coffee & juice in the hotel lounge with the same crowd.

Sunday, 4 October 2009

• Up at 5:30 AM
• Just coffee early today.
• Depart for church up in Noblesville at 7:00 AM sharp. Not too far from the park where we had the car show.

MARAUDERVILLE VIII (MV8)

Thursday, 9 September 2010

• Up early and in the lobby at 6:10 AM. No one in sight. Walk out to the parking lot and meet Jo Ann (Gryphonzus’ wife). Alonso the security guard is finishing up his night shift keeping an eye on our MM babies in the lot.
• Breakfast and coffee in the hotel lounge with fordfrk and Connie. Seems many of the rest are sleeping in or ordering room service.

Friday, 10 September 2010

• Up at 6:05 AM. Not a creature stirring in the lobby. I suspect that the late nighters will be dragging out a little late today.
• See Mrs. Gryphonzus out in the lot again. Alonso is finishing his tour of duty.
• Breakfast in the hotel lounge about 7:30 AM with Fordfrk and Hammerdown Connie again. Haggis and Ladyhawke come in later. A few scattered MM folks in the restaurant.

Saturday, 11 September 2010

• Up at 6:00 AM. It’s NASCAR Hall of Fame day.
• Pick up two coffees down in the restaurant and see the $2.00 per cup sign. I’ve been drinking this stuff free every morning and never saw that sign. What’s up with that? At the Hampton Inn, there’s free coffee and tea 24/7.
• Back down for breakfast at 7:30 AM. No fordfrk and Hammerdown this morning. Maybe a late night at the races. Alonso told me that there were folks in the parking lot until 4:00 AM.

Sunday, 12 September 2010

• Up at 6:00 AM. Make a quick trip down to get two cups of coffee from the restaurant. I am busted. Gotta pay $4.00 for 2 coffees.
• Back to the room to get showered and ready to roll.
• Headed out to church at about 7:00 AM. We arrive in plenty of time. Was hoping for a short service. No such luck.

My first one was in Maryland. I still remember people complaining at the Mason Dixon Dragway because they thought the Grand Monkey was running in the wrong class. They were sure it was supercharged! Linda told them otherwise!

I also have visions of James79stang taking me out in the semi finals! I got even with him in the SC slass with a .005 light!:P James is one of the best drag racers I know!:) The SC classs was won by Russ Pryor with me as runner up when I broke out! I had the fastest NA car there running a 13.69 in 95 degree heat!. There was a shortage of SC cars so they let 4 NA cars in the class. Us NA cars had lunch at SC cars expense!:banana2:I made 22 runs that day!

I also won 3 trophies at this Marauderville! Had a great time! The second Indy event I had the Grand Monkey out with the SC. She made a couple of runs and went 11.26 on the street tune against Shermans Marauder. I still lost but cut the light on Chris. She has since made a 10.88 @ 129.7 pass and broke the tranny right after that. Look for more on the Grand Monkey in the spring!

The T bolt will be sneaking out for some fun here in South Haven. She is looking foe Doomie for a snack this year! It could be a great race!:food:

St Louis was cool also as I was the only one who got a ride in the Chrysler Turbine car! Sometimes it pays to ask!;)

You are correct, Charlie! I ment MV7 (Indy)! Good times and yes, Connie always joined us while the "better halves" slept in.;)
