Is the right way for out thermostat position is the top facing down towards the ground or the top facing up in the housing? I just put in a new radiator and my t stat back in but my car still wants to overheat. I've burped it like 3 times already..

I goes in the same way it came out.

The top of the thermostat goes towards the radiator.

If I would have remembered when I took it out last year I wouldn't be asking Mr.Sarcastic. And how would it be facing the radiator the way it's in the housing??

I don't know if this helps; but the spring end always goes closest to the engine (coolant flow out of engine).
Top (the pellet end) always toward the rad (coolant flow into rad).

To put it another way: coolant must flow from the engine; to the t-stat **spring end**; then to the rad.
