Hey

Just thought I'd share. I've been running the marauder with the dashdaq for about 6 months. I've currently got a screen watching about 12 computer and subsequent calculated values.

One of the flags I watch is misfire.

Misfire sometimes goes off once an hour, sometimes not for days. Occationally it goes off when on a bumpy road. Particularly milled roads. I think that's because it's partly driven by a knock sensor. Kind of nerve racking when your dashdaq goes 'alert!' out of nowhere, but not a bad thing though.

SO.. on the way home from New Hampshire the other day (sorry I missed the meet BTW) and it is going off every hour. Then every 20 minutes. And as I start to pull into an exit it stays on. I can feel the engine running a little rough. Not bad enough for a check engine but my foot feels it. Foot comes right off the gas pedal. Eeeeeeeek.

Then I remembered. I went with my dad to the very cheapest gas station, a brand I don't recall, in the region. Hmmmm. So fortunately I spot a Shell station. I've used about a half a tank so far. So I fill her back up with 93.

Misfire is gone. It was the cheap gas. 'Misfire' hasn't gone true since.

So not how I expected to use the dashdaq, but it made a pretty good cheap gas detector.

Have to remember that one. Thanks for the tip.

Hard mounted mine today. Get a pic up tomorrow.

Knock sensor has nothing to do with the missfire counter that is derived from the crank position sensor primarily and the back EMF generated by the coil when it fires.

Never heard of a dashdaq, but I just looked it up.
It's looks very nice but it is a bit pricey. I just bought a ScanGauge and I "WAS" happy with it but man that dashdaq looks nice.

Oh OK sorry bout that. I was guessing. I figured the computer would watch for shutter engine shuttering too. So the lack of the EMF would tell it the plug didn't fire.

Now I'm wondering why I'll get that occasional construction site misfire. Wonder if I have a loose connection in a coil pack, etc.

Sorry. I was a real pain in their ass when I was setting up and they were nice to me to boot.

I drew up a marauder theme too. :)

Matt I've been meaning to post up that your drivers side headlight is out of whack. Points up to high.

Sorry Paula and I left you in the dust while traveling in the slow lane, no cookie for you. ;)

Ha ha ha.

Car's been really slow ever since I installed that Trilogy. And now you tell me it's cross eyed! I should just throw it out.:dunno: :depress:

I'll give you $8 for it.
