View Full Version : Thank you Racer X & members!
Well as most of you know I had a lil car trouble while in New Hampshire.
Long story short. My fuel rail pressure sensor went bad and my car wouldn't start! :depress:
Had to get my car towed from the Wright museum to a local ford dealer.
MM03MOK and PRCARGUY thanks a million for staying with us and waiting for the flatbed (in the rain)!
Also thank you PRCARGUY for following the flatbed to the dealer and then taking us back to the hotel! I can't thank you enough for that!
I would have been stuck in New Hampshire till at least Monday if it wasn't for Racer X!
The dealer didn't have a fuel rail pressure sensor in stock and wasn't able to get one from anywhere! :mad2:
But Bill had an extra one and came down to the dealership with it for me.
I can't thank you guys enough for going out of your way to help me out.
Especially since it was my first time meeting both of you!
You guys really came together and helped a member out!
This to me is what MM.Net is all about!
Thank you all! :2thumbs:

Nice to hear you got it fixed. How did it keep your car from starting? Was it leaking or just giving erroneous readings for the PCM? If you unplugged the wire from it would the PCM just choose a value and maybe the car would start?
Maybe I better order one for my Marauder parts locker.

There's a litlle metal disk inside the FRPS that blew. The PCM sees no pressure at the rail so it keeps pushing fuel to the rail. Meanwhile, fuel is going from the rail, through the newly created FRPS hole, into the vacuum/boost line and dumping into the plenum. All at 39psi+. The lower plenum was full of fuel. The problem with disks blowing is with high HP engines and rail pressure spikes. Vaccum to boost then letting off, you can see 80psi at the rail depending on temperature.
This is one fix: http://dagostinoracing.com/index.php?main_page=product_in fo&cPath=2678_122_1447_1463&products_id=13875
The other fix is in the tunes themselves. Mine is lowered at higher fuel temperatures enough that the spikes aren't deadly to the disk.
Thanks for the compliment Jake! You're a nice guy and I hope we meet up again sometime.

Is this something that should be installed on Eaton Swaps? Dave did you make this change?

Another reason why I am very glad I made the choice to buy my Marauder and check out this site, there so many numerous good hearted folks on here who without question or asking anything in return will help out another member if they can do so.

Here is a simple change in the tune any tuner can make to help prevent this:

Have to agree that the mm.net members in NH were the best! My first instinct when I was told the car wouldn't start was that we needed to get a hold of RacerX (Bill). I remember checking to see if I had his number which I didn't, so I asked LadyHawke to PM him on mm.net. but little did I know that Jake already had Bill on the phone! And of course Mary and PRCARGUY were so great to stay in Wolfboro with Jake & Amanda.

I read the reference to the fuel rail pressure disc & immediately ordered one. My car is periodically throwing a code for fuel rail pressure out of spec. Maybe the disc will both fix the code and keep me from being fuel-Doomed.
