Hey everyone! I'm new to this forum, and I just bought my dream car for my first car...I need a nice maintenance schedule for my MM, if anyone has any advice. Someone told me that the factory one is lacking... Thanks!!!

Owners manual should outline the basics.

I don't think there is a "perfect maintenance schedule" ?

I would post mine but many, many people would say it's overkill:lol:

Factory oil is fine but I switched to full syntheic.

Trans flush every 30K, rear gear oil changed every 60k, flush coolant every other year, check all hose's each year. Plugs are good for 100K per Ford but I would not leave 'em in that long, fuel filter every other oil change. can't think of the rest right now.

Yeah I figured the "perfect maintenance schedule" changes depending on the person... but better too overkill than nothing! thank you

I do the trans fluid every 30k or so, oil every 3k. Other stuff as needed, Do the rear diff every once and a while. Ive only done it once in 30k though

Is there a specific brand of oil for everything that you've been using that you'd recommend?

I've always used Motorcraft products and have had excellent results.

Oil change schedule is best determined by oil analysis rather than by mileage or time. I've used semi-synthetic Motorcraft in both my cars, 5W-20 when NA, running 5W-30 since supercharging.

I found a decent app for keeping track of vehicle maintenance, it's called EZCare. You enter all your preventive maintenance needs, add mileage intervals, enter your mileage every now and then and it gives you alerts for the service as it comes up.

Have fun and enjoy....

You can also track your mantenance at Ford owners web site.

Myself I have a spreadsheet on my computer to track the car & truck.

Oil has sparked some fun threads on this site:)

I use Pensoil full synthetic in my engines.

All other fluids are take care of at my friends shop.

Trans flush every 30k. On an 04 I am about to hit 25k not sure if it has been change in the past or not. On a tranny is it just mile or is it miles and time frame.

Depends on how hard you drive. I would go by miles but bot leave it in more that 3 years.

But what about if this would be the first change it gets. After 25k and 8 yrs. it feels good. And looks good. ???

I still do trust that method. Just my way. Maybe if I had the car since new and knew how it was driven then maybe.

When I bought the '95 F-150 in 2007 with 50K and garage keep never driven in rain/snow (it really did look/smell new) first thing I did was head over my friends bodyshop and change every fluid. Oil, trans, brake, PW, antifreeze, plus all new filters everywhere:)
Now after 5 years and 35K it run like new:up: And most important I trust the truck.
I also replaced all belts and hose's I hate brakedowns.

This is really a helpful App. One problem though. If you have more than one vehicle...you're stuck choosing only one.

Thanks for posting this though.
