5.0...... The Ecoboost just sounds like trouble to me with it's twin turbos.

5.0 or if you really want a 6 go with the non-eco. The eco buzzes and sounds like you are being followed by WWII fighter planes.

Opted for the 5.0L ...

Currently, there's more performance offerings than for the EcoBoost or the 3.7L V6.

Probably referring to the aftermarket. :)

Probably referring to the aftermarket. :)

I suppose so --cause the initial offerings from both are about equal.............

Marauderman - Like what? 5.0 has 5HP less than the EcoBoost which has I believe 420# TQ if you want to compare---whats the 5.0? -so what are you referring too my friend.......
Referring to after-assemblyline performance offerings.

Non-FoMoCo providers are just now starting to offer (as an example) performance tunes, exhaust, etc..

And Ford Racing Performance Parts has several 5.0L bits/pieces (while originally intended for the Mustangs) that are being used on the 2011+ F-150 5.0Ls.

For the record ...

3.5L EcoBoost - 365HP @ 5000RPM / 420FtLb @ 2500RPM
5.0L 4V TiVCT - 360HP @ 5500RPM / 380FtLb @ 4250RPM

For the most part it's a dead-heat in the žmile for comparatively equipped/optioned (other than engine) F-150s.

I'm happy with my #s (for a 6487Lb vehicle with a 3.73RAR) ... 14.9Sec žmile *BEST time - stock.
22.0MPG *BEST highway

You just make this ^^^^^^ **** up, don't you???

The F-150 with the Ecoboost sounds fine and has more than enough HQ and TQ to do the job. I rode in one with the family (5 of us) in the crew cab to Fredericksburg on Sunday. About 60 miles roundtrip. Plenty of pick-up and off the line oooomph!! MPGs ain't bad either compared to the alternatives.

The owner is happy as H3LL that I talked him out of getting a Tundra. :P

I've got the 3.5L Ecoboost in the Taurus SHO and I haven't heard any airplanes yet.

I drove an F-150 shortly after the eco-boost became available. I never said it didn't have any power on the contrary it had plenty to get most jobs done but driving alone with the radio off I swear I was being tracked by ba ba black sheep. Didn't like the buzz. Maybe it's a problem that has been addressed by Ford or the one I had had an issue. Still take the 5.0 over it anyways. JMO :)
