A local dealer told me that he is getting in MM's with the Moonroof, TC and Heated seats in 2 weeks.

They get both TC and limited slip.

I don't see how you could get both limited slip and TC. Doesn't limited slip transfer the torque to the wheel that isn't slipping? TC applies the ABS to the wheel/wheels to limit the slippage, then will start pulling the engine timing and fuel delivery if the slippage continues beyond a certain time frame. As I missing something here? Not that I miss the TC now that I don't have it!

Great news, DirectedBy, but what about the six MMs on his lot he hasn't sold yet?

I don't understand the necessity of having both either, but that's what they have done

Ford's distribution of the Marauder certainly has been odd. Dealers in the East and South have so many they sit unsold, while dealers in the West and NW are lucky to have recieved one, which they've sold and are trying to get more in!

Same thing with the new t-bird. One dealer i know has easily sold four, and could have sold at least 30, but can't get them, while t-birds sit on lots in other parts of the country

Traction control and limited slip are two different things.

Limited slip prevents the differential from allowing one wheel to spin freely.

Traction control uses the brakes (like the ABS does) to slow down the wheelspin on both wheels if you are spinning them both.

Limited slip helps in bad weather all on it's own, but the stock tires
have terrible traction in snow and ice. Even with TC people are
gonna be in for a freaky ride on those BFGs in slippery stuff.

I'm looking forward to getting a ton of snow to test my new snow
tires. :)

Having both limited slip and TC is the best of both worlds (although not badly needed). The limited slip reduces the chances of one rear wheel spinning out and activiting the TC which then cuts the engine back pretty quickly. With the limited slip, both wheels have to be spinning before the TC kicks in.

I did an dealer inventory check for Minneapolis and there sure are lots of MM's here.

indeed, when I was driving a Z28 LT1 car it had both. I always drove it with the TC OFF even in snow. However there were a few times in the snow in the morning time when the highways hadn't been plowed yet and the TC came in handy as it kept things stable at higher speeds but that was the only exception, otherwise Idon't use it.

Once I got stuck in a snow pit in the Z28 and I thought to turn ON the TC for fun to see what it would do and as I predicted it did NOTHING. As TC's function is to apply brakes (not valid in this example) and retard engine timing the more loss of traction is sensed, the engine wouldn't even rev past 1000 RPM; virtually a dead car. So after I had my laugh, I switched the TC off and rocked the auto from D into R back and forth old school style and voila, I was in business again.
