When deciding on doing the Trilogy mod I was not at all concerned about mpg. Was a life long want and realistically, you gotta pay to play. But after install I had to check just to know. What I found astonished me!
All these numbers are running 91 octane NON-ethanol fuel.
N/A with 3.55s I averaged 21mpg with a best all hwy 23.
N/A after 4.10s install I dropped 1.5mpg which I did not mind at all given what I gained.
Now, after T242 install I drove like grandpa for 20 miles to make sure no hose connections blew or parts fell off... I then hit WOT nonstop for 71 miles including numerous triple digit+ giggle fests. Fueled up, 5.4 gal, 91 miles = 17mpg (16.9). Holy crap, I couldn't believe it! Would have been happy with 10!
Now for truly amazing - Filled up this am and left Elkhorn for Manitowoc. Locked the cruise at 74 and relaxed for enjoyable journey. Arrived in Manitowoc and filled up before getting on ferry. Coincidentally 5.4 gal again, 132 miles = 24.44mpg! 24 friggin' mpg with Trilogy & 4.10s! That's better than the N/A with 3.55s!
Damn! I am truly amazed by the fuel management of this motor and the awesome kit Jerry & Mike put together! Thanks guys. :banana2:
