hey guys im needing to replace my rear pinion seal and just have not got the chance to do so yet since it is not really leaking THAT bad but is def leaking from there.

i can smell the gear fluid sometimes when getting out of my car after a drive and starting to bug me so going to replace this weekend.

does anybody have a part number for the new rear pinion seal that i need to replace please?

finally does anybody have a write-up on doing this fix, im sure its been done by many members here. just need pointed in the right direction

how difficult would you say this is to do since i know you will have to take that side of the drivshaft out?

thanks alot guys any tips/ advice would be highly appiciated thank you :)

been told if going to replace the seal that i should go this route and replace the seal, nut and flange all at once.. so i should go with this and seems to be a really good price

You need a new seal and crush collar.

Replacement should be done by a professional since you can change the pinion depth.

I only let the pros dig around in my rear end...

But yes, the tolerances have to be spot on or your car will howl and fail you soon. You will need special tools to assist you in setting it up.

Would a vehicle proctologist be an appropriate term for a mechanic doing this? :flamer:
