Ok, I used the search but did not find a definitive answer. Is there a wiring harness for the clock on the 2003 models that fits behind the center dot matrix trim? Is the wiring there already? I read some stuff about how it might be pinned to the radio.
I have a center dot matrix trim piece and the clock for it..I have a 2004, is it possible to put into a 2004 and have it work..sort of plug and play or is the deletion of the clock on the 2004 models make it difficult to swap.
Thanks!

I have an '04 that I added the clock to. It will help if you can get the connector and a length of the wiring attached to it.
The connector is wired like this:
Power all the time
Power when the car is running
Ground
There is a fourth wire that goes to the gauges but I didn't connect it.

There is a fourth wire that goes to the gauges but I didn't connect it.Jim, could that be for allowing the clock to dim along with the other dashboard lights?
I know (think?) there was a pin on the back of the radio that enabled/disabled the built-in clock. Anyone have any more info in this?

Sorry.... that last wire goes to the interior lights. Will double check when I get back home.
I'll see if I can dig up anything on disabling the clock in the '04 radios.

IIRC, disabling the clock, or enabling it for that matter, was by either placing or removing a jumper that looks like a chip cap on the front board that has all the controls and buttons on it. It has been several years since I opened one up, and I am not sure if it was a MM radio or a CV radio though.

Thanks for the info..I'll see if maybe one of the members parting out marauders still has it. I do not have the Maraduer radio anymore in it , but the Escape audiophile

On the Alpine, if you add a ground wire to pin #6 on the grey radio connector (as you face the end of the unplugged connector) that is the clock signal. No wire in the connector/harness activates the radio clock and a ground wire turns it off (when a dash clock is installed).
And the brown wire at the clock is to turn down the intensity of the display when the running lights are on. It is brighter in the day and dims slightly when dark.
