I do not get on Mercurmarder.net often, but I thought you guys would take use of this info. Over the weekend I installed SPC Performance camber bolt kit #87365 to fix my inner tire wear. I lowered the front of my car a few years back and experienced this common issue. There are many places you can purchase this bolt kit online.

(you will need two, sold per side) I purchased mine directly from SPC and they shipped them for free, but currently I cannot find the part on their website.

Here is how-to video on installation:

Before installing this kit the max adjustment with the factory bolts would net me -1.1 degrees. Recommended factory setting is -0.5 degrees. With the SPC bolts installed I can exceed factory camber to about +1.2 degrees. This kit allows for a lot of adjustment.

Below are some pictures taken before, during, and after. If you take a look at the alignment specs you will notice I matched the factory recommended camber setting, but I am playing with the caster and toe a little to limit tire wear (still within factory specs). My personal opinion is that with the factory toe settings you will still experience some inner tire wear. That is why I set it just off of 0 degrees. Hopefully, I will not have to buy two sets of fronts to one set of rear tires from here on.

I also recommend using a directional tire that dose not specify an outside or inside. This allows to demount and rotate the tires side to side in-turn moving the inner tire wear to the outside edge.

I work at the Meineke in Lexington, SC on Saturdays (my second job) and would be glad to install this kit and align your car for anyone that would like to make the trip. Not sure of what it would cost at the moment. I need to chat with the shop manager to work out price.

I hope you guys can use this info.

Later,
Lee

So you couldn't get the Carfixers specs to work for you?

Seems like alot of work and money when carfixers specs would have fixed the problem.

You so silly... read my post completely next time. Due to the fact that my car is lowered the minimum camber that I could achieve with the factory bolts was -1.1 degrees. That is not even close to the -0.3 degrees carfixers specs recommends. I set mine to -0.5 degrees to not hurt the handling for my aggressive driving style.

No problem, just trying to help out a little. I wouldn't mind installing and aligning for anyone, at a cost of course.

Moog is selling the SPC bolts - I just installed them last weekend. Car is on the rack now getting aligned. Had the same problem w/1 1/4 coil cut off front springs - too much neg Camber and the adjustment was up against the stop. After these bolts the positive camber available was unbelievable. Hope this will end the wear on the inner edge now that the "carfixer specs" can be attained!

Just ordered my kit. Hopefully I'll get them by Thursday and have this done on Friday while I'm off.

I already filed my slots to get the most adjustment out of my stock camber bolts. That was good for about another 0.3 degrees but these bolts would probably get it all the way there! BTW, did you find that this forced you to have a lot more caster? I ended up on the high side of the caster limits.

Looked back at your pictures and see your in the same boat as I was with the caster on the high side.

Yes now the camber has plenty of range - more than enough!
The caster is at the high end of the limit but has not been a problem w/driving.

I was contemplating lowering the car 1/2" to 1" when I rebuild the suspension. I imagine I would be well advised to get these for the greater adjustment range, just in case a small lowering is still problematic?
