View Full Version : Blacked out Badges

Well,.. I finally got around to painting my front and rear badges. It was pretty easy. I removed the front badge, there's only a 10mm lock nut holding it on.
I thought about removing the rear badge for painting, but it looked like a total PITA. So, I just taped it off and cover the rear of the car with an old beach towel. It worked pretty well.
As far as prepping the badges, all I did was clean them with Isopropyl Alcohol. I thought about taking some 400 grit sandpaper to them, but decided against it. If I have any problems with the paint peeling later I'll do it.

Thanks!
nope,... I think that might be a little too much IMO. If anything, I was thinking about having the window trim chrome dipped again. The contrast looks good to me.

Tom, all I noticed were those awesome valve covers!!! Apparently your stealth badge look worked, didn't even notice them.:D
As far as the window trim, unless you're dipping the entire car, it ain't happening. Remember? They are hermedically attached.

The rear? What rear?
Wow, more stealth! I didn't notice that either.:baaa:
Hey Tom, did you come up with an idea for the sway bar? Or just put in as is?
Mine is just screaming to be powder coated. Springs as well.

The sway bar went to the powder coaters with the valve covers. if I go with some Eibachs you can bet I'll powder coat them before they go in!

Guess what color?
I'd have to guess red
BTW: What's a reasonable price?
I've found that most places have a minimum price. The minimum price where I went was $100 bucks. I spent $150 (if memory serves) on the valve covers and sway bar, that included sand blasting.
Now I just need to get a polished rear end cover!
BTW- I ordered the Eastwood brake caliper paint, should be here this week. Guess what color?
