I wanted to start treating my leather int and was wondering what others are currently using. A search showed Zaino, Lexol and Leatherique as contenders. Any good or bad to report on these products?

Zaino: Spray Leather Cleaner and Leather in a Bottle.

My boy, 10 years old, says that my car still smells new.

At our last Carolina Marauders meet, Fin Harder said "your car still smells like leather. How is that?"

Zaino.

Well that is 5 quick votes for Zaino. I like what their products do for my paint, sounds like I should try their leather products for myself too.

Mink Oil.

Half a dozen sources out here now, I would for it at an upscale shoe store, or, a clothing store for samples.

Mr. "Zaino" isn't a chemist. He hasn't discovered any new way to treat leather, or, paint for that matter.

He has revived the concept of "market spin."

If it's more expensive, and that more expensive is only available from one source, you got a leg on the table...I hope you're catching on.

Mac, I agreee. There are many good products for leather that are available from Lexol and Meguiar's.

As respects Zaino paint treatment I can only speak to my own experience.

I wash and wax my car myself. I have used Zaino, Meguiars, Collinite and Blue Coral.

All 4 are excellent products and will yeild excellent results.

My own experience is compared to Meguiars, Collinite and Blue Coral Zaino (after the initial prep to put on the first coat) is;
easier to apply
provides a signifiantly brighter shine
hides more imperfections
maintains the shine longer.

I have not used Zaino leather treatment. I have used Eagle, Meguiars and Lexol leather treatment. I prefer Lexol. The Lexol leather cleaner is also particularly good.

I would agree that Zaino products have apparently found many supporters on this forum, but I'm of a mind that you should be open-minded about car care .

I've used Meguiars on all my cars for years with great results .

I find it interesting how the "anti-Zaino" folks are just as passionate as the "Zaino-ites"...

I'll park mine next to anyones...and using the Zaino products inside and out...there's not a better looking one around.

The original question was about Leather cleaning/care. Go to www.zainobros.com (http://www.zainobros.com) and for less than $20 delivered to your door you'll have the best stuff you can use...bar-none. And it will last you about a year or so depending on applications.

I have always used Meguires and mink oil. I plan to use the Zaino. This board certainly does convince one to act like a sheep. :stupid: (Busting on myself, not you, guys) :burnout:

I had somebody highly recommend the Lexol leather care products to me the other day. I think I'm going to pick up their cleaner and treater and give it a shot.

I'm a Turtle wax guy myself, always liked their products. This is one of those real subjective typyes though, the old eye of the beholder thing. IMHO nearly any name brand, high quality leather treatment is better than nothing, same holds for waxes, wash solutions, gasolines, and the like. :coolman:

I have always used Lexol on my seats with great results. I have not tried Zaino for leather, but if its as good as his exterior products I should probably switch.

I have tried several different waxes from Turtle Wax, Mequiars, and Zymol. None of them even come close to Zaino, and I am not one to get caught up in any marketing spin. I have yet to hear an effective argument from the "anti-Zaino" camp. It is simply a better product than any off the shelf wax.

Here's another $0.02. I've been using Mother's California Gold line of products - wash, sealer, wax and leather treatment on my cars for 8 years and I have not been disapointed yet! Zaino's sounds interesting and I may try it one of these days.

Browsing around the net I keep coming up with Leatherique being the heavy hitter for top notch leather care. I think I will try it so I can provide the feedback to the group. Hopefully it is as good as I keep reading. I'll post my results when done.

Tend to agree with SergntMac ... especially regarding the mink oil.

Would recommend Duragloss (https://www.duragloss.com/new/products/vl-treatments.htm) 221 Leather Conditioner; has mink oil and lanolin, is non oily, non greasy, AND is readily available ( CarQuest, PepBoys, etc. ) for a reasonable price.

Was using Liquid Glass - Connoisseur's Choice® (http://www.liquidglass.com/lgcc.htm), until it became hard to find at retail auto supply places.
