Actually any full syntheic is fine to use. (IMHO)

I've used Motorcraft semi-syn in both my DTR and DBP with excellent results; the only change I've made is switching to 5W30 since the Eaton swap.

Mobil 1 is excellent oil, as are virtually any of the well-known brands that offer synthetics, IMO, use what you feel most comfortable with.

Royal Purple causes oil leaks for my car. Unfortunately. :-( Switched back and no oil leaks since.

Have you checked Walmart?

Example: I use Mobil 1 oil 5W-20 full synthetic. Walmart sells a 5 quart jug for $26.00

Advance auto and autozone sell the same 5 quart jug for $36.00 - $38.00! :eek:


So I have only been buying my oil from Walmart since I saw that!

I use Pennzoil Platinum in my DD and LS8. The MM gets RP. You can get it cheaper on line if you look on EBay. IIRC, this past spring 6 qts was $51, shipped. It is always $10 qt in the stores here.

damn 26.00 for a 5 guart jug is awesome and might make me make the change been runnin royal purple in my car since had motor rebuilt

6 guarts of royal purple is what over 50.00 at 9.00 a quart thats expensive and mobil 1 is same thing they say buy differnt color

so this might make me change to mobil 1 and save a whole lot of money also since i change my oil every 3k no matter what using full synthnetic and some ay its worthless why every 3k and not every 5k

i run my MM pretty hard eihtier every 3k or 3 months i change my oil and always use full synthentic

Check amazon for jugs or barrels of RP.

I've used Mobil 1, switched to RP then to Amsoil and back to Mobil 1 once the prices of the other two shot up. I buy two 5 quart jugs at a time at Wal-Mart, got two 5W-30HM yesterday for $25 each. Wal-Mart also sells our FL820S filter as well.
