So I wanted to try this cause it was dirt cheap with almost no modifications needed.

I ordered some H1 LED bulbs off Ebay (now that the diffuser is removed I can go WAY bigger, or more leds on 1 bulb) for like $10 shipped for 2.

The only thing required to make these bulbs fit from the back is to open up the slot of where the bulb actually go through the housing, I took a drill bit and shaved it a little.

And here is how to separate the fog light to remove the diffusers (cause I didnt know until today)

add LED H1 bulb and reinstall

The match the HIDs (6500k) a lot better than the halogens thats for sure

Just wait until you drive at night, you will be disappointed in their light output. Should of went with an HID kit for the foglight

You can use an H1 kit but will need to modify the bulb holder or use an H10 bulb which need not even 1-2 mins worth of work with a dremel. Going with an H10 bulb kit makes it a breeze, then just have to do a little wiring and put some rtv on the back of the housing/bulb and that's it.

Talk to FBM, he can set you up with everything you need.

An H10 kit works fine.

Why do you have to drill a hole?

I have 6 or 8k HIDs in head lights and fogs, i always wondered if the LEDs would be bright enuff in the fogs.

Nope, LEDs are very good for up close lighting in small areas but just don't have the lumens output to really project the light over a distance.

I run LED H7 bulbs in my Pontoon docking lights, awesome for that but the scatter is horrible!

I upgraded to projector headlights and HID fogs, but now kinda wish I had kept the factory fogs as halogen fogs throw more.

If your Halogen bulbs were brighter than your HIDs something is very wrong! halogens cannot come close to HID lighting! if that were the case i would have switched back.

You guys have part #'s or a specific brand of HID's for both fogs and headlight assembly's?

Just wondered what works best, a lot of HID kits out there from the weird made in china ones for dirt cheap to the serious $$$ ones.

universal LED bulbs aren't that great. I run Trucklite LED Headlights in my H1 and they are really bright and they don't scatter at all. Don't throw as much light as an HID set up. But the LED setup is water proof and more shock resistant than HID setups.

I've installed / sold alot of the "Made in China" kits since that is where most are made. Have had very few problems. I use H10 bulbs for the foglights. Need to modify the bulb base and silicone them into the foglight housings. I can do that for you. PM me if interested.

FYI:
size hole to drill for MOST LED bulbs is 1/2"

The LED bulb itself is approx !/2" in diameter & will not fit thru the socket opening like the stock bulb. A simply & very slight opening of the socket opening with a 1/2: drill bit is all that is needed to install most LED plug & play bulbs..
Alot of LED out there are not of very high quality... I have choosen to utilize LED bulbs much like are used on my H1 aswell.. They appear to work just fine... I do not have a night time photo atm however I have chosen a color that matching my HID color well... at least it appeared to in day time... Perhaps I'll get to look in dark tonight...
