I don't know about KBB or NADA, but if it's mechanically sound and the pictures aren't hiding anything cosmetic, I'd be willing to pay that price for that car. I might try to haggle down to 16K even, but I don't think I'd be getting ripped off as it sits now.

I actually got the guy down $1,000 on the car and was planning on going down tomorrow to get it, but he left it on ebay and tells me that someone hit the buy it now so I am out. I totally expected him to take the car off any sites so I guess it's partly my bad, but thats crazy to make a deal then just say sorry your out.

That does suck. Had you not put down a deposit I'd side with the seller but with a deposit I'd consider it sold and pull it.
Are you looking for a stock car or one that's been modded?

I asked about the deposit but nothing was said so I figured we did not need it. Oh well on to the next car. Does not matter if it is modded. Just looking for a lower mileage Marauder.

I always put a deposit down if I'm going to be for sure buying a car if it's going to be more than 24hrs before I get there to do the deal.
As a seller he had to remember there was a chance you wouldn't be buying the car.
I was jerked off repeatedly when selling mine, guys saying they'd be flying in the next weekend then disappear when I told them I needed a deposit to hold it.
I'll be selling mine for 18k in the spring most likely. Most mods are in sig.

Not 100% positive and it's buried in the back of my storage building.
If someone showed up with cash it'd probably leave but it'd take me a full day moving non-running stuff out of the way to get it out.

I believe I bought it & wanted it now. I cared not about the price; $1000.00 be damned ! He, if this is the same car , apparently did not put a deposit down. I was told that someone with an SUV for trade/cash was coming Thursday to look at it. I pushed "buy it now" , and I did.

Sorry that it happened that way but, we all love these cars. It was not my intention to screw over anyone that loved this car; I wanted to pull the trigger.

Congrats on the purchase. I definetely don't love the car and it was not worth the extra grand but enjoy it. There are a lot of clean Marauders out there just not going to jump at a car sight unseen.

Glad there are no hard feelings. I too, have looked at "more than the first car in sight". It is worth it to me and I believe that is what counts. Maybe don't "love" the car but, you seemed quite interested in it as I was. Marauders are getting harder to find each day and I hope to enjoy this one for a long time. Hope your next search is the "one" . I'll probably find one on E-bay that is better priced and a better car tomorrow. Oh, well....

I also looked into the seller and his reputation/feedback. I would not hesitate for this seller. I know someone who is familiar with him and I trust his word also. A little "P.S."

Of course there are no hard feelings enjoy the new ride I will find one that suits me I am sure. Maybe we will see each other at a meet or the track one day since we are not that far from each other.
