Why is it that headers for the Marauder are like double or more than any other headers????You can get headers for a cobra for $300....Why is that...I want headers even more than before since my new mechanic said the small size of the exhaust pipes from headers back would be a restriction once a blower was added...:(

Bugsy, keep in mind the low production numbers of our cars. How many thousands and thousands of Mustangs have been built? The cost of the design, tooling, etc. is spread out over a larger number of units in that case, versus maybe a couple hundred sets of headers for our cars. Mass production = low cost; low volume = higher cost.

it all comes down to supply and demand, as far as I know most are made to order. If they are making a run of 1000 or more at a time, then the price would drop.

Exactly! I doubt there'll ever be a 1,000 sets, total, built for Marauders.

You don't need to do headers, that's only a choice which will cost more because you will need to be dyno-tuned after getting them plus the labor for installing them. Some SC guys have stock exhaust manifolds and have just modifed the exhaust piping.

Dyno tune? I don't need no stinking dyno tune!:burnout:

Then you wont get the most out of the headers.

You don't need headers if adding a blower. Any blower out there is capable of destroying your block all by itself with pulleys alone...
I made 445 with just one size down pulley and CAI!

The quickest Marauder (for quite a while) had stock exhaust manifolds.
Mustang headers will fit but you may have to do a little modification to some. It has been done before with success. Just keep searching the mustang ads.

To be clear on this, Mach 1's with an automatic, some fit. Cobra's not even close. Ask me how I know..

Like you didn't help out in that mess! LOL
You were the one that motivated me through all that! And still really appreciate the help on the X-pipe as well! Even though I am only a couple weeks away from my new welder going back on sale. :) Yup, that time again soon to put her back under the knife! This time 100% stainless everything one off justbob custom. Probably make up an X and an H this time. Also wanting to make my own LT's from scratch. Long winter right? :)

I always thought that MM headers were made out of GOLD.

I did not add headers until I went S/C on a Cobra Long Block.
On an OEM Motor ~450 RWHP seems to be the durability max.

My FRPP shorty Cobra headers to Magnaflow high flow cats to Magnaflow x-pipe to MM piping, Magnaflow mufflers works great! Cheap as hell too. Just had to grind a bit off the steering shaft. :D

Instead of doing headers, I had everything from the stock manifolds back replaced and upgraded for less than a set of LT headers. As much as I would love to have headers I bounced back and forth with deciding on SW or a big brake kit, I went with the brakes as I really don't want the car any louder than it is or fork out more money for a dyno tune and labor for the install.

What are you getting out of the Cobra LB? Do you have a hair dryer or are you screwed?

That is very, very nice. I'm just seeing where I might be at. Thanks. Looks like I might need a different MAF. Lightning MAF max'es out at 500 :mad2:.
