So its been awhile since our last meet. Im thinking November 10 (saturday) for another meet. We are all spread out thru the Bay so any suggestions for the meet are welcome. Thinking maybe around lunchtime so we have enough light to take some pics. We dont have to eat lunch just get together and talk cars. Let me know what and where u guys want to do this.

Like maybe meeting outside the USS hornet. THe parking lot is pretty empty right when they open. Talk shop and then anyone and thier children want to take the tour (I'd like to wander around inside again since I didn't stay there long the last time I was there). Just an idea.

Another idea I had was the military tank museum in Portolla Valley. You reserve your group in advance. Then after the tour, we can talk shop and you are allowed to take photos with some of the vehicles they have in the parking lot.

I'm not sure exactly where the meet is going to be, but I have heard of the collection in Portola Valley. Early November sounds good to me.

For those who haven't seen the USS Hornet, I think they are open all year round even weekends from like 10 AM to 5 PM. Parking is free. Last time I went right when they opened, the parking lot was completely empty. I took a few of the tours (they also allow you to take self guided tours if you want) then ate a burger for lunch from a vendor who sells food on the main deck, but then when I got back out to the parking lot about 2:00 PM, the parking lot was full. I'd go again and I'd recommend the USS hornet museum if anyone hasn't gone.

In regards to the military tank museum in Portolla Valley, that requires a little more planning. We would need a good idea of how many would be going, schedule in advance by booking our group, etc. Knowing this group, so that might not work out so well. They do have limited parking but maybe if our group was big enough and we got just our group in? I don't know. I do have some materials on the collection from the last time I went if anyone wants to know more about it.

I'd also recommend as an idea meeting at my favorite burger joint (Clarkesburger) on El Camino in Mountain View. But the parking is very limited there especially if you don't beat the lunch rush.

What other ideas are you all having? I like the idea of an activity coupled with grabbing a burger with time to talk shop and photos with our cars. Our own little West Coast Marauderville, if you will. lol

And it should probably be something people can bring spouses and family members too, kind of thing.

jus4kix03mm: How do you like the Eibach springs? Which brand shocks are they wrapped around? Any idea how much lower than stock they are? Does the car scrape or hit curbs? How much stiffer are they than stock? Did you try cutting the stock springs first, or straight to Eibach?

I'm accumulating parts for a complete redo of the front end, and am contemplating springs and ride height as well, but don't want to go too low.

That is quite a drop. I liked the stock shocks when they were new and actually worked, but all good things must come to an end. I'll let you know what I think of the Penske shocks in a month or so.
