In light of the fact that a few of us have had insurance claims lately I was wondering...

1. What company insures your car
2. Do you have it insured for value
3. What value is it insured for

Maybe we should all get together on this so the insurance industry does not try to screw us out of our cars. At least we could get the dollar amounts all the same so there is a level playing field when it comes to pay out.

American Modern Home Insurance Company
Stated Value of $15,000.00

My car has 92,000 miles on it 300A, all options and an aftermarket Moonroof. I'd say my car is in 90% condition...I am not saying that I feel I could get $15,000 for it but I know I can't replace it easily.

What do you guys think?

I've been wondering about this issue more and more.

I need to call my agent and call some other companies.

I would like to know who has and couldn't get their mods on their cars covered.

Mine is with Grundy. 35k agreed value coverage. About $700.00 per. year. Garage kept, not dd.

Might be interested in coverage that is less restrictive.

I haven't covered my mods, I have full coverage. In my position if they total it, I'll buy it back, buy another and put my go fast parts on it, and part out the rest.

Though I really only drive on the weekends and when my girlfriend is in town as she feels more comfortable driving the stang. Probably cause she knows I love the Marauder more😊😊😊😊😊

State farm. My agent said mod away and have fun. I have zero to hide. But I have had enough of the phone calls and hand shakes every time I do something. About time we sit down and re write the entire policy.

In most cases, check your specific policy,

Stated Value = the most the insurance company will pay but not the amount, essentially they have limited the max payment

ACV = anything and everything must be considered in determining the value

Agreed = the amount paid in the event of a total loss

hagerty has restrictions if I remember, like cannot be driving to work.... well Im one of 20 people at my work, we all have nice cars (old muscle or rods etc.) that we drive to work on occasion.... so I dont like that restriction.

If I didnt drive the MM to work once and a while then it would probably only get drove 1 time every 2 weeks.

I have country INS and were are in the process of writing up a 30K agreed upon value policy

If it's stolen you won't be switching anything over. Might be worth a few bucks more for the peace of mind.
