My wife and I were getting ready to leave our friendly local motorcycle dealer when a guy approached me to ask if I'd be interested in selling my Marauder. He told me he had recently driven a friend's Marauder and was really blown away by it. He didn't flinch when I told him what it'd take to get it away from me, so we'll see if anything develops. This is about the 4th time I've had someone approach me and ask if I'd be willing to sell. Still fun after all these years to be getting such attention.

$18k would be the number someone would have to float for me to part with my car. Not even $17,999 would take it.

Uhh........ you been on Autotrader, Cars.com, ebay. Every body that's looking to buy these cars now expects them to be in showroom condition low miles for old cruiser prices. I have thought about posting mine for sale(to upgrade) but don't want to get bombarded with cvpi value offers, and most throw the distance card in too. I bought mine sight unseen from houston 900 miles away, do I regret it, a little but I worked past the flaws and fixed the issues. The other thing that bugs me about price haggling, is that if most try to sell they want top dollar when they paid pennies for it originally. Yeah some people get lucky with getting them for dirt cheap, that doesn't mean haggle people that have listed firm prices. Its no wonder why the vaules of our cars have dopped off fast.
Sorry for the rant and hijack just wanted to get it off my chest

I couldn't agree more. The main reason I'm reluctant to sell is that no one wants to pay what I think is the true value of the car. I paid $26K for the car in 2005 when it only had 13K miles on it. It now only has 60K miles and is in excellent shape, but most people expect to get a car like this for beater prices. The car only gets sold if I get an offer that fits MY needs. Otherwise, it's got a lot of years left in it.

I have a SB that I am about to put up for sale. It has been my daily driver since day 1. I purchased it with 85 miles on the odo, it now has 161,000. It still runs great, but the gas mileage is killing me.

I'm getting some scratches repaired thanks to Fabulous Freddy's. They damaged the driver's door while washing my car. After that I will post pics & details.

KBB says a 2003 in good condition with 161,000 miles should sell for around $6,500. I could live with that.
