so i was thinking of what i wanted for x-mas and a polisher came to mind. i have always just waxed by hand, and have never used a polisher before. well after seeing a few videos on autogeek.net, im suprised how a polisher can make the paint look a lot better than i ever could by hand. i looked a little bit into the porter cable 7424xp, and it seemed to be the best bang for the buck, and you can get kits with different pads, and waxes/polishes/glazes(which im not exactly sure of the difference). i was hoping somebody on here could give me some insight on it all. my mm is a 03 300a black, has light swirl marks and a few scratches(barely can catch a fingernail on some, others i cant). thanks for the responses--whitey

The 7424xp is a nice machine. Look for a kit that uses a 5.5" pad with a 5" backing plate. Optimum makes a good line of polishes that don't dust much along with sealants which are available in smaller 8oz sizes. Autogeek usually has a good black Friday sale. Lots of info there too.

Im using optimums opti seal already and it does a fantastic job, I was looking at the optimum kit, but wasnt sure if there is something better, like pinnacle and such. Thanks for the opinion

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" It all depends on what "better" is, ease of use, cost or whatever. If you want to try something different Pinnacle has a very nice line products along with other manufactures such as Blackfire and Menzerna. Read the reviews on Autogeek to help you make a decision.
