Can anyone with underdrive pulleys tell me if when you remove the OEM crank pulley if anything else is removed that is not put back on, such as harmonic balancer or torsional dampener ??? Thanks in advance.

the OEM is one peice integrated unit. ditto for the black steeda's.
When we did mine, the pulley was the only thing that was removed.
Javier,
The Steeda underdrive pulley kit comes with a crank pulley, a waterpump pulley and an alternator pulley.
The only pullies that are changed are the crank and waterpump. Do not change the alternator pulley. The crank pulley has a harmonic balancer built-in on both the stocker and the Steeda replacement.

Thanks Todd, do you happen to know what kind of balancer method the Steeda pulley uses, counterweights or rubber blocks ??? Thanks, Javier.

Based on the construction appears to be a rubber block.

I brought the subject up because I want the pulleys very much, they seem to be an excellent bang for the buck mod. I just want to make sure that no dampening protection to the crankshat is lost.
High compression engines (high horsepower) actually twist the crank with every power stroke and without the protection of a dampener to absorb this shock the potential for crank damage is very real. I am glad to know the Steeda pulley provides this protection as well as OEM pulley.;)

the steeda dampner is of very good quality and it is also sfi rated
SFI spec 18.1 which means its nhra and ihra legal it has been spun
to a extremely high rpm with no failures the out side ring is steel instead of cast it is also designed
to stay on the crank hub if for some reason the rubber comes loose
between the crank hub and the out side ring , you would not want to be in
the way of 8 lbs of ring spinng at 6000 rpm or 8lbs of little bitty chuks of metal moving at that speed . dont forget to pull the sfi tag off the dampner if you wish the dealer not to know about the pulleys , they might look twice at the size but the white tag readig SFI SPEC 18.1 is a dead give away and the only one here going fast enough for the nhra or ihra techs to question their car about a sfi dampner is DR hes not their yet but i seem him at that speed very shortly when he bumps in to the 10s

If you do the install yourself don't forget before you put the harmonic balancer puller on, not to forget to remove the washer first, or the puller will rest on the washer.

Heh...good point...
...one more thing:
The new long bolt that comes with the crank pulley is only for starting the new pulley onto the crank snout...you complete the install using the original bolt, so don't lose it...(it's all in the instructions...)
