Well, I have been patiently waiting, and enviously reading all the threads posted by our southern bretheren regarding thier upgrades and now my time has come!

We have been blessed with a prospective 5 day stretch of mild, dry weather and I'm making my move. The good folks at C&M Street Performance have a window of opportunity as well in their extremely busy schedule.

I am packing up the Kooks kit, the springs, and the pullies, and heading out tommorrow if the snow holds off tonight, and finally getting it done.

Tonight I must search the threads, and print as much of the member tricks and advice with regards to these specific installations so that I might provide these folks at C&M with much needed input to make these installs run smoothly.

It's finally my turn!:banana2:

Hey thanks all....

I'm following the 'PULLY' thread that Smokie has started, very insightfull.
There a ton of Kooks threads...just gotta find them and print 'em.

As far as the Eibachs, any secrets, or is it a straight forward replacement?

I need refreshed as to how low they drop the front, and how low I should lower the rear? Mental note, gotta find that thread. MV posted pics I believe.

Barry, you lucky son of a gun, that is a lot of mods. I have little so far except for nice weather. I believe after the Eibachs you drop the rear 1". Congratulations and keep us up to date. :bows:

Congrats, Barry, best wishes.

Regarding lowering the rear, you can go only so low, and still have air suspension functional. The Watts links are slotted to a maximum, and if you let them all the way down, you'll still be okay with tire clearances and suspension function. With the 1" drop in front, the car should come out almost level. I measured 4.5" from the frame to the ground below the A pillar, and 5.0" at the C pillar. The natural offset of the OEM tires still leaves a slight rake.

Hey thanks all....
As far as the Eibachs, any secrets, or is it a straight forward replacement?.It should be straight forward. Remember when you re-align it after the spring install, be sure to knock of the factory clips on the camber adjustment, or you won't get an accurate alignment!

Mine dropped about 1.5" in the front and you can drop anywhere from 3/4" to 1" in the back. Mine is 3/4" in the back and the rake is really nice at that level!!

Hope this is helpful !:bounce:

Thanks all again. I am printing this as we speak.

I also found all the threads regarding the Kooks installs, and the pics and notes on the rear adjustments. You folks answering the measurements pretty much sums it up.

BTW: I just looked out the back door. It's snowing. If it sticks....I'm stuck. I'll be watching the Intellicast radar like I watch new posts tonite!

Woke up to 3 inches of snow! Oddly enough it didn't fall on the roadways. In fact, the roads were nearly dry. Got to C&M no problem.

What a class act place. They build roadsters and dragsters to suit customer requests. They specialize in the recreation of the 39-41 Willys. They build everything, from the frame construction to body panels. This place reminded me of monster garage, and had the talent to boot!

The Marauder looked a little out of place, but they were excited to work on it.

I have finally found a trust worthy place in my area, and their name is familiar in our circle of vendors.

Now I wait! Woo Hoo:up:

My car is done! I pick it up tomorrow....maybe.

They did the entire Kooks setup, pullies, springs, rear adjust, swaybar, adriveshaft, and front end alignment. $960, sound good? Good to me.

Now the maybe part. I have suffered from an unusual (lets call it a migrane), pain in my right temple for 5 days now. It won't let up, and feels as though someone is running a knife thru my brain. 24/7 x 5 days. Nothing stops it it, we have tried a variety of drugs, I get stoned, but still have a headache. Wierd? I am ready to jump off a bridge, if I could only find one!

The doctor just called and told me to check in the nearest hospital. Damn...and survivor is on tonite. Hopefully this will be quick, but you all know how ER's are. Sit and wait....for hours....oh joy.

Talk to you all soon.

Hey Cruz....

I suffer from migraines myself and when I get one that my drugs can't handle....I go to the ER and get a big ol shot of Demeral!!! THAT usually takes care of it.....or atleast it makes it to where I don't even know I have a headache!!
Good Luck at the ER....hope you feel better soon!
Oh BTW...
CONGRATULATIONS on your new mods!!! Get over your headache so you can enjoy them!!!!!

Barry,

I hope when you read this...you are back from the ER and feeling better. Don't mess around with migranes/headaches. They can be very painful AND symptoms of other things...I used to have such a pain...then I got smart and quit answering Marty's PMs and threw away his number....pain gone. :flamer:

Ahhhh, thank for the get wells.

5 hours, two needle pricks, one IV, and a head cat scan later...I'm home. Headache and all. Negative on the cat scan. Apparently just one of those oddball migranes. I was given a pat on the back, and a percocet to go. Just between us, I'm saving the percocet for tomorrow, cause I'm thinking this one isn't ready to give up.

Gonna pick up the car in the morning. Very excited, that may be just what the doctor ordered.

Then it's my turn to give insight into the new marauder handling package!

I think you were just having withdrawl symptoms from not having your Marauder around. :depress: Either that or you were just worried about her so much while see was at the shop. :alone: Once you go and pick up your car the migraine will probably go away.

If it doesn't I hope you feel better soon. Good luck and enjoy the new mods.

Well what do you know, I picked up the Marauder and my headache is gone. The only problem now is my face hurts! I can't stop smiling.:baaa:

The car is crazy loud, and crazy fast. Been giving test drives all morning here at the airport. With the new airport expansion, they have built a new somewhat unknown cement 4 lane road around the airport perimeter with some crazy long straight aways, 2 chicanes, and 3 nice turns.

I love the exhaust. The suspension, albeit harsher than before, is extremely tight and true. I need to check the rear height measurements once again. The car appears very slammed at this point. What should it be in the rear again???

As far as pullies, I never noticed the main large pullie doesn't have belt grooves.
Odd...? Is that ok? Appears as though the belt could slip off.

It's love all over, man is it crazy mean now.:banana2:

Barry:

Glad you're feeling better, bro...

Um, if you're talking about the water pump pulley, no it doesn't have grooves (neither does the original)...it's driven by the back side of the belt and there's no sideways tension on it at that point, so it's self-centering...no danger of it slipping off...
