I've been looking around and I'm deciding its time to buy the 4.10 gears but my question is does anyone know where I could get the gears for a good price?
So far the best price I've found is in eBay that's going for $145..anyone know of a better place lol?

At the 4-and-10 store? ...r r r
As long as they are genuine FRP and new, get 'em for whatever low price you can. I bought mine from a member...can't remember if I paid $140 or $160, though.
I think you'll be pleased with the results...

You're thinking along the right lines. I like my 4.10s, but the 4.30s will give you even better low end response, especially NA.

Would the 4.30s require more to install though? Like since the gear is bigger that means I might need a bigger rear axle and such?? And one major thing that is stopping me from 4.30s is that Zack might not have a tune for it whereas he already has a 4.10 tune ready to go, You know?

The ring and pinion gears are the same size.... the number of teeth change the gear ratio. As long as the gears are for a 8.8 Ford axle they will fit.
Simple change to the tune to account for different gears.

Oh that I didn't know!! I thought the 4.30s would require more of a job to install. You know what now I'm seriously thinking of getting the 4.30s now

You'll need an install kit, fluid (75w140), friction modifier if not using synthetic fluid, might need axle bearing and axles if it's an '03 and axle seals.
Get them installed by a qualified tech.
The new gears should be absolutely quite after the install.... if there is any noise they were not installed properly.

Zack can hook you up. And your thinking back asswards, you want MORE gear if you aren't S/C'd. S/C'ing only provides more fun.

do you need the special cross pin for the 4.30 or is it required at 4.56?

Well my plan is 1) get the gears AND install kit. 2) try and get Dean's performance to install them. 3) get a tune from Zack. I just talked to Zack and he does indeed have a tune so all steps are good to go. I'm Just worried about step one. Lol I have an 04 so I won't need the axle bearings right?

I don't understand that comment myself :confused:;
...but if you're going to have the guts pulled apart for the gear install; get the whole damn kit and be done with it!
You'll be pretty happy if you go through all this; then a month or two later, the bearings start to leak.

Get the master install kit and do it right. Han's at Deans is good people, he did mine.
Factory Cross pin I believe works up to 4.56 IIRC Eric.

Early run of MM had "soft axles", ie. they were not hardened.

If your MM has more than 75k miles on it and you do a gear swap it's a good idea and cheap insurance to go ahead and replace the axle bearings, the parts barely cost anything and the axles have to be removed for the ring gear install anyways.
