I thought you guys might like this story.

A couple of years ago. I went with a friend to a storage unit auction. Being a car, tool, or anything involving testosterone type of guy, I ended up buying a locker for $140 that had a nasty bed, a gaudy glass top dinette set and several tool boxes and two stacks of tires and wheels buried in the back.

I ended up with a complete set of Chevy truck alloys with nice Michelins, Ford Explorer with decent rubber and on the bottom of the stacks was a complete set of Mercury Marauder factory wheels and bald tires. It took me a few days to identify them for sure once I cleaned them up to read the FoMOCo part numbers. One of the wheels was curb rashed really bad and one had a gouge in a spoke, two of them were mint. I put them on Ebay as-is and got $500, sold to a 19 year old kid with a Grand Marquis LSE (nice car BTW).

At the time, I had no idea I'd be in the market to buy a Marauder two years later or I would have kept them around for extra center caps, etc.

I sold the chevy and explorer sets on Craigslist for $250 each and got a lot of great tools out of the deal.

I figured you guys would like to hear about that.

No I don't want to hear about that. I can ever get a deal like that. And all this does is remind me of how big a loser I am.
