What helmet do you guys have and would recommend for the drag strip?
I've heard Snell 98 is good.

Depends on the track but SNELL 2005 or new or the shell of the helmet needs to be 2003 or newer.

spend on the newest you can find Snell 2010 & then race a number of years before you need a new one. my track made me get newer than the 2000 that I had.

I've got a Snell 2005 helmet, need to pick up a new one for next year since they the expiration is 7 years on them for NHRA tracks.

Snell 2010 is the current. Many tracks will accept the 2005. I think you'd be hard pressed getting a 1998 through tech, provided it was an actual tech inspection. I've been to many tracks where tech is basically if you're breathing.

It all depends on how much you value your head.
If it's of value to you,
get the best new up to date helmut that you can afford.
If your head is of no value to you,
get a cheap one.
The joke will be on everybody else if something happens........,
right.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
