The 2008 Ford Edge we bought has a bad APIM Hands Free Sync Module.

The dealership wants $600.00 to replace it. The part number seems to be: 8L2T-14D212-AE

According to e-bay and most salvage yards. I need to know what this should cost and or if $600.00 is an elivated price to have this done.

Used it is about $60.00 to $100.00 and I heard it needs to be programed to work in the vehicle.

Any info would be appreciated.

Can not find the part on any Ford site to find out what it should be.

Thanks
Dave and Francisco

Its located in the center console, on the back side at the bottom. Yes, it must be programmed once it is installed in the car (can't be done on the bench) Our local Ford dealer says #8L2Z-14D212D is the new number. $336.95 is list price.

There is no reason why it should more than $150 to instal and program it.

Big time thanks for the info Curless!!!

Apparently this gives the Vehicle the ability to link up with any Blue Tooth device and allow interaction between it and you.

All I know is until I get it fixed my life is miserable Because Francisco is pissed off about it! LOL

I will see, now that I have info, if I can get the dealership to lower the price a bit closer to what your saying.

No problem, Keller Ford here in Grand Rapids has a great wholesale guy that always goes out of the way to help us!
