I'll take a picture and post it up here when I get a chance. Anyways, I noticed that on my passenger front door on the inner jam part, there is a piece of tape (looks like a piece of tape) that is starting to fall off. But when I look at the driver door, it has a rubber piece there. So does the jams of both doors look the same and I'm perhaps missing one of the rubber stopper things? If so, I'd like the part number. My first thought was that it was the piece that holds the lock in the door since that is what that area is for on my box.

I'll post a photo when I get home in case you don't know what I'm talking about.

Here is a photo of the door. What is this piece of tape that is coming off? Is something else supposed to be there? The driver side has a rubber stopper or something in that same spot.

Thx

Mine has a piece of tape/plastic strip also and it's starting to curl up. I'm thinking it's for a little protection in case pins start wearing and door starts sagging? It touches the area of the frame that bumps out a bit. Tape against paint is better than paint against paint.

That's my guess. :thinker:

OK, guess I'll just put a new piece of tape there.

Like I said, just my GUESS. Maybe someone else will chime in.

The door shell is for any panther vehicle, including CVPIs and taxis with an outside handle that has a key lock. The tape is to cover the hole where the lock cylinder retaining clip would be. See driver door for an idea of this clip.
