I have had the the 4" Megs -Resonator delete tips since the last Louisville Meet, and finally got off my lazy-ass to get them installed today.

First, a BIG thanks to Tommy at Expert Exhaust for his excellent work on the installation!

:bows::bows::bows:

Here are the pics that show stock versus the 4" tips before, during and after the install.

Once she was buttoned up, Tommy fired her up while on the lift and OMG!

The sound is awesome!

These tips gave my MM a deeper, richer tone that is music to my ears.

Not only the sound, but appearance-wise, I could not be happier with this setup!

No cabin drone. No irritating vibration. Nothing.

Simply, a meaner sounding exhaust note that made this car feel like a new experience all over again.

Get these tips!

Let me elaborate here folks...

For those of you who were not in attendance at the past Louisville meet.

It was DOOM (Jake) and CWright (Chris) that made this possible.

I'll stop here, and if either one of them wish to expand on this, they are more than welcome.

Yes Jake. I feel the love brutha'!

Thanks dude!

Once Tommy got both tips symmetrical, we then worked on the length, and what we felt looked the best.

I actually wanted them out just a tad further, and after looking closer, I went with his recommendation and he welded them up.

Again, I could not be more pleased!

What is the rest of the exhaust system on your car. I was hoping to go with 3.5" tips and delete the rear cats, but it doesn't look like the 3.5" tips are going to get a run based on orders so far. I'm looking to increase exhaust sound slightly.

My exhaust is 100% stock excluding the tips.

The exhaust note is slightly louder with a deeper tone that is noticed more at startup and idle.

Cruising around 55MPH in OD, it too sounds awesome!

Go with the 4" and don't look back.

Bought mine awhile ago and still can't decide if I really want to install them. Not crazy about the way they look welded to the stock exhaust for one, I also prefer the look of the OEM angle which cannot be achieved on the 4" rolled edge and more importantly, if not installed correctly they can produce a cabin drone which I am unwilling to accept. Sometimes where the Marauder is concerned I find OEM is actually best.....but I guess nothing is in granite here so if I don't love them after install I could just sell. Anyway, thanks for the write up Mike and I'm glad it all worked out to your satisfaction. BTW the DTR looks awesome as ever!!

Maybe have the 4" tips welded to the stock exhaust manifold and have the sticking out of the hood?

Paula, you can go the flange option on tail pipe and tip, if you don't like welds. Then you can just bolt on your taste in tips.

Paula,

This mod may not be for eveyone, as I posted the pics for a comparison for the peeps considering pulling the trigger on this.

I am all about OEM. To a point.

IMHO, I cannot see how installing these "incorrectly" would create a cabin drone.

Again, these tips gave a richer, deeper tone, and slightly louder note.

Just going by what I heard from coneng: "They are not immediately interchangeable. The 4" have a 2.50" inlet whereas the 3.50" are meant to fit the OE or OE size exhaust systems which is 2.25". The 2.50" inlet is usually if they have swapped out for aftermarket at some point.

You can fab an adapter but be careful of developing a drone on the 4" on a 2.25" tailpipe. If you go that route we'd recommend extending a tailpipe into the tip a fair distance, to keep up the velocity of the exhaust pulse. The drone is caused when the pulse tries to fill up that big tip and begins to warble, if you paint the tailpipe black before installing tip you're not likely to notice.

In fact, this is a recommended idea for just about any rolled edge tip. If you look at a OE tip you usually see it done this way. Not necessary but it can save some headaches down the road. "

I do like that they are bigger and who doesn't like bigger.:D I'll prolly get off the fence one of these days and install them. They've only been sitting here for a year or so....

If you do not have them installed by the time Louisville rolls around, or if you just want to wait until then..

Take it out and drive it for a while.
